Predictable as hell
ajpb-214872 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I feel like every TV show has done this plot, where one of the main characters get replaced and everyone loves them and that character gets jealous or something, but then it turns out the replacement is evil. I've seen it way too many times before.

That's basically the plot of this episode. It's not bad, theres no scenes that drag on too long just to fill time, but there's nothing really special about it either.

Warning: Spoilers
Is anyone going to talk about the new room in the house? No one? Grrrrrr. I personally get annoyed with the layout of this house and how it doesn't make sense. Now this!!

All About Alana

Warning: Spoilers
The days of groundbreaking comedy from Family Guy are long gone, but there were at least parts of this episode that were amusing and they picked a notable story to parody.

Such a hilarious yet interesting episode.

The entire plot with Alana stealing Lois's life was freaking fantastic and the whole family enjoying her presence was also entertaining on its own. I really liked this episode. What a great storyline. 9.8/10.

Cool idea, horrible execution

Warning: Spoilers
Did anyone else think it was absolutely dumb that Louis gets thrown off a high cliff and then coincidentally lands through the church window. Completely unharmed?

Seems like the writers just gave up at that point.... definitely ruined the episode for me.

This episode was so amazing that it's become MY FAVOURITE FAMILY GUY EPISODE EVER
patk-1120418 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Why? Elizabeth Gillies gave an amazing performance as Alana Fitzgerald, Most of the characters were likeable, the 20th Century Fox Logo with the kazoo was decent, Alana made for an interesting villain, Stewie narrating the episode was interesting, and I can't talk about this episode without bringing up one of, if not, the best musical numbers in the entirety of Family Guy, Brian and Alana's duet was super amazing and catchy and is the main reason I love this episode. It also shows that Seth MacFarlane and Elizabeth Gillies go great duets together. I hope in the future that there is another episode that ends up being as amazing as this one.

Copy of a Simpsons episode
rcl1306 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A lazy attempt at writing, simply a copy of a better executed and more original Simpsons episode where Otto's bride Becky moves in and Marge becomes paranoid about her stealing Homer.

The episode started with potential - a young piano teacher moves in, I wonder what shenanigans will go on in the house, maybe some jokes, maybe some twists, but ultimately the storyline was predictable - girl tries to steal the husband.

It also seemed like they cut several scenes out towards the end of the episode then ended it quickly with a cliche everything back to normal scene.

These latest episodes are becoming flatter and flatter. It's like the production has given up trying.

Great episode
jackwolf729 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This is one of the best episodes in a long while. Many references to other movies and shows (including King Of The Hill), wonderful singing (Seth Macfarlane nailed it, as usual), fine jokes, though the overall plot surpasses all of the mentioned before - it is quite interesting, yet, of course, predictable (after all, this is a show where everything restarts next episode). Some little details which we like (for example, Brian behaving like a dog) but they're shown rarely are also here. Stewie the sassy narrator. I think people stopped appreciating the hard work that is put into Family Guy. Yes, its not as good as before, but the episodes like this one show it can still be fun.

Repeating something with "funny" comments is not a parody.
herculeanes2 May 2022
"Clever" meta-humor, characters over explains "jokes", "jokes" that go on forever, "jokes" with bad timing, irrelevant parodies, inappropriate references, rehash of old jokes and ideas that have already been in this and other shows all didn't work in previous similar episodes, but the writers are confident that "this time it's going to be different". It's not.

This episode is mediocre and blantant copy of other people's ideas, so it will never get recognition. No one will copy mediocrity. No one will remember this episode in a couple of years. And it's just sad how low this show has fallen.

P. S. Those who praise this episode are either shills, or pseudo-intellectuals, or are too accustomed to safe space and bland humor. Because I can't imagine a viewer who doesn't even smirk at an episode of a more popular or funny show, burst into laughter at a mediocre episode copying a ancient movie.

Copying because it's not a parody. Parody requires knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the original work. New Family Guy writers don't even understand the show they're working on.

This episode was absolutely

Warning: Spoilers
One of the worst that I can remember seeing recently. I phrased it that way...."worst that I can REMEMBER" seeing. Almost 100% of the episodes the last few seasons have been so terribly unentertaining that they are so bad, and so forgettable, they don't even stand out. They all just mash together.

This one was really really really bad.

I usually reserve 1's and 2's for much worse than this... but I just let my knee jerk reaction kick in here.

I did not laugh or crack a smile or have any uncontrolled, reactionary reaction to anything that went on in this episode. (Maybe there was 1 or 2...but I want this episode out of my head so fast, I won't linger on it.)

I really thought the voice of Alanna was Paget Brewster.

It really is a shame that whoever took over the show for Seth Macfarlane...what they have done to it.

Absolutely destroyed it. This show should have been put down 5 6 7 years ago? Just end it.

Not the whatever years Seth was still involved with it after the 1st 10 were any good...but however low and bad it got...it has continued to decline.

And as if it needs to be said. You (insert words of a derogatory and dismissive nature) who gave this a 10 9 8 or 7 rating...or 6 or 5.... your critical thinking skills...I'm sorry.

Critical thinking. The definition of critical thinking is the ability to.......

Backwards country
User14511117 August 2023
Do Americans seriously have to pay to apply for college? Are they aware that no other country in the world has that policy?

The whole notion of shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons being a parody of 80's American sitcoms where everyone gets along and the characters learn a lesson is well known, but America as a country really is a parody on a international scale.

Just when you think gun obsessed rednecks, madmen politicians and instilled racism is enough to make them a laughing stock on the world stage, they also have to pay to apply for college.

Not just pay to attend college, but also pay to apply.

Incredible.
