- Quotes
Detective Elliot Stabler: It's over, Frank! Take a look around. It's the end of the line. Let me take you in, Frank.
Detective Frank Donnelly: Take me in for what, an ice cream cone? No way.
Detective Elliot Stabler: Didn't want it to end this way, man
Detective Frank Donnelly: Yeah? How'd you think it was gonna end?
[Donnelly steps out from where he was hiding]
Detective Frank Donnelly: Let me ask you something, Stabler. Why?
Detective Elliot Stabler: I had to. I took an oath.
Detective Frank Donnelly: So did I.
Detective Elliot Stabler: No, you didn't. You took two, Frank... one, when you became a cop, and the second when you stopped being one.
Detective Frank Donnelly: Ah... nobody cares about cops except other cops. I told you that. We're all we have.
Detective Elliot Stabler: You're right. You threw that all away.
Detective Frank Donnelly: I gave you something I never gave anybody else, okay? I let you into my family. I named one of my kids after you! I set you and your family up for life! You threw *that* all away!
Detective Elliot Stabler: Frank, you were a good cop. You were a decorated officer. You took a wrong turn.
Detective Frank Donnelly: Yeah, so now what? You're gonna make an example out of me, huh? Put me away for ninety-nine plus one? Nah. I can't live like that.
[a train horn can be heard in the distance. Donnelly looks in that direction and takes a deep breath, then looks back at Stabler]
Detective Elliot Stabler: I gotta take you in, Frank.
Detective Frank Donnelly: No, you don't.
[the train horn sounds again, this time much louder as the train rounds a corner and closes in on Donnelly]
Detective Elliot Stabler: [seeing Donnelly standing too close to the rails] Frank...
Detective Frank Donnelly: You broke my heart, pal.
[Donnelly intentionally steps onto the track directly into the path of the incoming train]
Detective Elliot Stabler: [racing toward Donnelly] Frank! Frank!
[Donnelly doesn't move as the train continues on its path and eventually runs him down. Stabler stops and looks on stunned as the train continues on its way]
Donnely's disappointment, Stabler's mission, the trap game, the chases were tense, exciting. Donnely's end and words of disappointment were impressive. Stabler's pride and tears in the final scene were also emotional.
Most of the possible scenarios have been completed. Stabler and Donnely were huge with their performances. It was great to see Cragen. In fact, Cragen's scene might have come as a surprise.
It's just that the scene of Donnely's fraternity and Stabler's showdown and the capture of his two men, and the aftermath, was a bit superficial. The strength of the bond between the Brotherhood, Donnelly and Stabler could have been felt, and the capture of the two dirty cops could have been prolonged. So it could have been two parts, not just one.
Preston Webb and his wife, Donnely and his wife were very good actors with their charisma. They performed well. With them, Donnely, Stabler and Brotherhood, Nova and his brother's revenge were scenarios that could be deepened. It was finished quickly.
I think the rivalry for love, revenge and power between Webb and his wife could have been prolonged. Webb's death could have been added to additional scenarios. Again, in my opinion, Donnely should not have been killed. He is one of the great characters for OC.
Scenes with nationalistic feelings are impressive in Svu and Olivia as they are reflected on the squad level, in the justice message. There is a woman, a policeman, a law enforcement who, with all her emotions and logic, confronts her defeats and victories and makes peace. Usually not alone, she has a squad like her belief in justice and family she trusts. I hope this doesn't lose its status.
But OC only has Stabler. Everything is in the center of Stabler. That's why nationalistic emotional scenes do not affect much. Because the hero will never die, the hero will always win. Knowing this, we are only watching one scene in the story of winning medals and honorable police. We are not very impressed.
OC has been a solid series this season. Reached the required level. It was a good and good series. However, it could be super. I hope we will see the super version very soon. To be continued.
