Bear Grylls takes Jake Gyllenhaal on a 2-day adventure in the mountains of Iceland, under extreme-cold conditions. I think the presence of a famous actor (or two anonymous fans, as in "Fan Vs. Wild") adds to the show, it makes it more relatable and even inspirational. When Bear does something crazy, he has done it many times before. But when a guest star does it, it's the first time - and it changes him forever. Grylls and Gyllenhaal have an engaging, often humorous rapport, and the traversing over a deep canyon is one of the most daring and dangerous things I've ever seen on the show. *** out of 4.
