- Harry Venn: Gina. Always said I'd get in trouble just to have you as my lawyer.
- Gina Hawkes: [smiles and sits down across from Harry] I have to warn you. Coffee's terrible.
- Harry Venn: [sips his coffee] Drunk worse.
- Gina Hawkes: You're a brave man.
- Lauren: Harry, what's going on? Who is she?
- Harry Venn: Mark's alive.
- Lauren: Harry, look at you, you're shaking. What have you taken?
- Harry Venn: He's alive, Lauren.
- Lauren: Harry.
- Harry Venn: I saw Paul Hillman. I saw him.
- Lauren: [noticing Harry's shirt] Oh, my God, is that blood?
- [first lines]
- Harry Venn: Get a towel, something.
- [starts dialing his mobile after Gina leaves]
- Frank Hanna: No! No. No H, no ambulance.
- Harry Venn: Frank, you've just been bloody shot.
- Frank Hanna: Gunshot wound. The cops will be right behind them. With my record, that's, that's jail. Life.
- Harry Venn: Frank, this is bad. You don't have a choice, mate.
- Sir Nigel Fountain: Gina.
- Gina Hawkes: Was it a shock, finding I was still alive?
- Sir Nigel Fountain: They promised me nothing would happen to you. I still have their word.
- Gina Hawkes: They? Morpeth? Styles? You're part of them. Aren't you? Who are they? Why did they murder my parents? Why do they want to kill me?
- Sir Nigel Fountain: Gina, you have to believe me. I've only every wanted to protect you. Remember the first day I brought you to my house? You were so lost, so sad. It was an awful time. But it was that day my life really began, with you.
- Gina Hawkes: [nodding] Yeah.
- Sir Nigel Fountain: I still remember the first time you put your hand in mine.
- Gina Hawkes: Yes. You made me feel safe. You made me feel loved, until you sent a killer after me. You've known all along why my parents were killed. When were you going to tell me?
- Sir Nigel Fountain: I had no part in it. Your parents were my friends. I had no idea they were going to be killed.
- Gina Hawkes: Why? Why were they murdered?
- James Morpeth: [answering his mobile] Elspeth.
- Elspeth Verney: [watching Alexander on television] Our boy certainly looks the part.
- James Morpeth: He looks exactly what he is. Another plausible, ambitious PR man with a trust fund and a pretty wife.
- Elspeth Verney: Yes. Poor thing has no idea what's coming.
- [last lines]
- Harry Venn: Oi! Oi! What's going on?
- Mark Venn: Hello, Harry.
- Harry Venn: What are you doing here?
- Mark Venn: You think I'm going to sit there and watch 'em bang you up? What's a big brother for, eh?
- Harry Venn: Lot of good it's done me.
- Mark Venn: Saved your arse once or twice.
- Harry Venn: You got me into this.
- Mark Venn: That's right. And now I'm getting you out.
- Harry Venn: And that's supposed to make it all right between us? Is it?
- Mark Venn: I don't have all day.
- Harry Venn: No, of course you don't. You've waited 20 years, but you don't have another day.
- Mark Venn: We need to go. I need a yes or no from you, Harry, and I need it quick. You want me to get you out of here?
- Harry Venn: No. I've got myself a good lawyer.
