Evil doppelgangers!
zombiehigh1831 December 2011
Warning: Spoilers
OK who's your favourite villain? Is it Lucifer? Isit Death? Or is it perhaps Crowley? No! It is evil Sam and Dean Winchester!!!!!!

Wow, This was just brilliant! I can't help put stop and marvel on every second of this fun loaded episode. The writing was perhaps the smartest we had on the show for a very very long time. There were so many clever great lines from every character and I have to add that the director was purely excellent.

"Slash fiction" comes as a happy reward for every Supernatural fan, with all the dreamy unforgettable moments:

1- Evil Sam and Dean go on a killing spree.

2- Leviathan Chet is both annoying and scarily smart.

3- Frank Devereaux is another example why I love Bobby. How the Hell does he know all those handy freaks? (Remember the first time we met Rufus guys?) Frank is hilarious, paranoid and outright sarcastic.

4- OK smashing Sam's laptop and burning out their rock aliases is one thing but taking the Impala is highly unacceptable. I heard Sera Gamble talk about how the boys will loose everything they have relied on in season seven, But not the Impala please. "No body puts baby in a corner", You are right on that Dean, especially when he and poor Sammy get crammed in the metal crappy car and with a "My little pony" hanging in the mirror. This must be Hell.

5- I love Sheriff Jody Mills, She is a perfect match for Bobby. The guy needs someone like her in his life, Please keep her on the show. They are so cute together.

6- Dean lip synching Air supply! I'm having fun and I'm recalling a similar scene on season two's "Simon said" with Dean singing "Can't Fight This Feeling". And Sam's freaked out face! Oh Sam why do you always have to be the fun spoiler?

7- Flashing back to the boys great hits from season one brings so many happy memories, smart move Supernatural creators, smart move.

8- The scene with evil Dean and Sam at the diner, this was priceless. Jared and Jensen must have had tons of fun doing that scene.

9- Evil Bobby! I definitely would like to see that again. Plus we get to know a bit more about the dark territory Bobby is having in his mind.

10- So Borax does the job? Too funny too cheesy.

11- Evil Dean taunting poor Sammy then dropping the Amy bomb shell! OH Sammy!

12- "Don't open it. Even if it starts talking, especially if it starts talking. When you cross over Underhill Bridge, toss it in the drink."

13- We finally meet the Levaithan boss and Crowley is back doing his usual deal of making twisted evil alliances. Good that someone is putting him in the right place.

And now a major discussion topic: Is Sam being over dramatic about the Amy thing? Is the boy's relationship retreating or are they show some extent of maturity?

I'm not giving my usual "Yes and No" answer, because the answer comes as a very big clear No this time. Sam is very angry with Dean right now, he might not be angry because Dean killed Amy but more because Dean had constantly lied to him about it, when he came clean to his brother about Lucifer and every thing that has been going on in his head. He is considering Evil Dean's words about how the real Dean thinks his mind is not in the right place, so Sam thinks his brother is not trusting his judgements any more so he is very angry with that thought. So Sam chose to walk away to get some time to cool off and reconsider things, in stead of venting out his anger on his brother and having to say hurtful things like they did to each other before, words they wish they could take back. Dean too knew no matter how he tried to justify his act to Sam, nothing can make him understand it right now, so he had to let his brother go and cool off for sometime. So Yes they are showing a great level of maturity learning from their past mistakes.

Finally Something wicked this way comes
hp1993-739-9477855 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed this episode after very average or below the average episodes so much!

Evil in the form of Leviathans reveals clever brains!

From the beginning: "Sam and Dean" were just the wright thing! Their "Pulp Fiction gets even madder (Pumpkin and Honey Bunny kill)" was so cool. Smart, really smart idea!

Then the Bobby-going-mad-because-of-no-way-how-to-kill-Leviathans part was so well played! Even Jody Mills played her role with Borax! So funny way how to clean mess from the Purgatory!

More serious theme of Dean and Sam! Get rid of their alias, credit cards, notebook and Impala! (Jensen's face!:D) All suggested by a great character of the man who owes Bobby Singer.

The moment in the new car! Priceless - so much like the old episodes! Dean singing in the car just made me smile after so many bad episodes...

Leviathans are introduced like mafia..and on the top of the iceberg stands the man who doesn't care for demons. Dick Roman. See Crowley powerless (despite the basket with muffins :)) was just satisfying moment.

(Againg the Amy-thing problem - not interested in it, but because of the great plot of this episode, I don't care!)

Doppelgangers, Decapitation and Sodium Borate
claudio_carvalho20 January 2013
In Montana, Bobby is interrogating the leviathan Chet and trying to find a means to destroy him. Chet suggests Bobby, Dean and Sam to watch the news on the television and they discover that two leviathans have cloned the Winchester brothers and are going on a crime spree in the same sequence of the cases that the brothers worked. Further they are the second most wanted in the United States and there is a manhunt of the FBI due to the murders of their doppelgangers.

Dean and Sam head to Ankeny, Iowa, and when they see the doppelgangers, Sheriff Osborne and his men arrest the Winchester brothers. Dean asks the sheriff to use his right of a phone call. Meanwhile, Sheriff Jody Mills visits Bobby that is still trying to destroy Chet. Out of the blue, a liquid drops on Chet arm and melts his flesh. Bobby finds Jody cleaning the floor with a sodium borate based detergent and he learns that decapitation associated to sodium borate can destroy the evil leviathans.

"Slash Fiction" is one of the best episodes of Supernatural, with a witty story of doppelgangers. The ironic means to destroy the powerful creatures is hilarious and now Crowley is back proclaiming that he is "The king of Hell". The leviathans are climbing positions in the society and Dick Roman seems to be a very powerful enemy of Dean, Sam and Bobby. The revelation to Sam that Dean has betrayed him and killed Amy was expected and now Sam and Dean are estranged. My vote is nine.

Classic form

This is a one of the latest episodes that feels like the opening season in the best way. I don't know if it is the flashbacks or what but this is first episode in a long, long time that feels like what the show was in the beginning. Oh sure there are the fan service moments and the references to Pulp Fiction but this is the Winchesters living on the edges of society while escaping the law and trying figure out how to kill some monsters. This has everything a good episode requires. A little bit of chills, and some laughs and brotherly angst.

detergents and demons
vered-shmilovich30 October 2011
First - i must say this one thing: God I missed Crowley! Out of all demons in all TV shows he is my favorite. (except for Damon Salvatore of course, but hey - he's a vamp so it doesn't count...)Nothing you can do about it - Crowley succeeds in a most impossible mission: making the king of hell a sympathetic character... and this is not an easy thing to do. I think it's the Scottish accent or just the scotch... Where was his bottle this time, BTW? And now seriously: it is symbolic that the only hope we get after six episode of unbeatable monsters is given to us by the two lowest things on earth: janitors and demons. A woman scrubbing the floor gives Bobby the solution he could have never find on his own (cause obviously he never cleans...), and Crowley turns on humans side in a blink of a Leviathan's eye... Oh - dear Mr. show creator: Please note that for us - audience, fans or whatever u call us - the old rain coat Dean pulled out of the lake couple of episodes ago is no compensation to Castiel's absence. We want our angle back - and we want him now! So please tell god to do something about it. thank you.

The return of Sam and Dean!
mm-395 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
The return of Sam and Dean. Just when the police thought Sam and Dean were dead! Two Sam and Dean impostors are going around on a killing spree. The impostors believe that Sam and Dean will be finished when law enforcement catches them. By being captured, the boys will be incapable of hunting. The demon type characters not only look like the brothers, but have their emotional hard wiring too. The two impostors hate what they have to duplicate! Sam and Dean are on the mission to clear their names, while Bobby is trying to figure out how to kill these new creatures. By accident, Bobby finds decapitation and cleaning fluid help. The story is funny, suspenseful, and entertaining all rolled into one. There is demented decapitation humour, and suspense on how the boys will stop the duplicates. The ending is an entertaining climax on how the boys can battle with these creatures which are hunting them down. Eight out of ten stars.

Action and drama
blackmagpie-6236821 May 2018
Whilst this episode is not mind-blowing, it is not a bad episode at all and I enjoyed it. It provides a lot of progress on the story line finding out information vital to fighting the Leviathan and it does so whilst the brothers are tackling their evil counters. A lot of drama in this one as well-love the ending.

A strong episode despite its unoriginal premise
saphira-284548 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As far as Leviathan episodes go, this is one of the best ones. Frank is a great, underappreciated character. The Winchesters being followed by the police is never a plot line that interests me because they always have to get out of it in an unconvincing way (no way they would be able to just walk around and talk to police officers with all those charges on them, regardless if they are considered officially dead or not), but at least this time it gets fixed quickly and we get some interesting action and dialogue out of it. And Dean's secret being revealed to Sam is good since the faster they are done with that misused plot line, the better.

Gooey mr. Incredible shapeshifters
shwetafabm23 June 2020
I didn't even realise this but in some ep they say the leviathans are like shapeshifters and its true, they are just shapeshifters on steroids and they about to get seriously nerfed. While i really like leviathan dean and sam i wish they acted a bit different and that leviathan in the basement just not scary. That awful fish mouth too. Best part of this episode is the angry pout face Dean makes when he sees leviathan Sam, laughed at that. Entertaining episode no doubt. Seeing Jody made me realize my problem with this season besides the monsters, the lack of other characters and things going on, S6 had so much going on plus so many characters with Bobby and Castiel getting their own eps, Bobby getting more screentime, Balthazar, Crowley, Campbells, monsters, Eve that it was jam packed. This season is just too slow paced.
