Even though it's from one of the weaker seasons, it's still an amazing finale

I've loved Californication since day 1. The character of Hank Moody, how it looks at love, friends, family and life, and how it sometimes makes you laugh wholeheartedly, other times will make you contemplate about a lot of things or tear you up.

Now, don't get me wrong. Season 5 is very funny, and often laugh- out-loud funny. But one thing that made it feel different is that it lacked a lot of the heart of the earlier seasons, Love Song being the exception. But then The Party came along, which was incredible, and now the even better finale, which continues the excellent streak of season enders.

I think what makes it so great is that it shows what might seem insignificant to Hank can have unexpected consequences. If he hadn't pissed off Samurai Apocalypse and made him lose his mind completely (which he's already been close to before), he wouldn't have regained his friendship with Charlie Runkle. The little bald man still respects him after all. But when trying to let Carrie down respectfully, something happens which results in one of the saddest moments of the entire series.

The final ending scene, with Hank realizing what Carrie just has done, had me almost in tears. And as if that wasn't bad enough, Carrie's pure desperation in her voice will tear you up inside.

That moment alone is what makes it worth a 10.
