Sex & Nudity

  • In Spartan Ops during a cutscene a man and his buddy make reference to making the women feel safe and comfortable. Implying they where sleeping with them. This is literally the only innuendo in the entire game and is extremely mild.
  • Cortana, Master Chief's AI companion in designed to be almost completely naked. Due to her holographic design, there is no graphic nudity her nipples, buttocks and all nudity is not visual as she is a blue AI but the curves of her body are emphasized. She is only seen throughout cutscenes in the campaign. This isn't graphic at all and extremely mild.

Violence & Gore

  • In one mission you open a door in game and a soldier is shot in the neck, there is little blood. You can't really stop it. Another soldier gets his neck broken by an alien wich can be missed. When soldiers get shot they bleed. When you get shot you bleed a little and even when you die they still shoot you and blood small amounts of blood can be seen.
  • Halo 5 has way more brutal assassations and violence than Halo 4.
  • This game is a science-fiction first-person-shooter, so the most obvious mature content is the violence. Surprisingly enough, the level of violence is actually toned down from previous Halo games. The primary targets in the game are aliens, which makes the violence even more distant from reality.
  • Players will use a wide variety of weaponry to kill enemies, including assault rifles, sniper rifles, machine guns etc. However, they are all fictional weapons.
  • Most of the enemies in the game, because of their structure, don't bleed at all. The only ones that do are the Covenant. However, the amount of blood is so minimal that it is almost impossible to notice.
  • There are a few instances where splatters of blood will stain the environment, but this isn't very often. However, it looks realistic. (multiplayer only or if you shoot a teammate in co-op)
  • Multiplayer works in a similar way. Most of the enemies in Multiplayer are humans, but there is no gore of any kind, even in explosions. It is much more common to see an enemies' shield react to being shot, and for the enemy to simply fall over dead.
  • The only exception comes in the middle of the game. There is a cutscene where the main antagonist fires a chemical weapon that disintegrates all of the people on a spaceship, layer by layer. It is very graphic, but it is very brief.

Profanity

  • the campaign has 2 uses of hell 2 damns and 1 use of bitch
  • The most tame language in the entire series mostly kept at a PG level.
  • The amount of language in the campaign is very mild, with infrequent usage of words such as "Hell" and "Damn". Cortana says "Bitch".
  • Game ratings are not established based on what other online players may say in multiplayer mode. Foul language someone else uses does not correlate to the campaign experience.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Rated PG-13 for intense violence and action, disturbing images and partial nudity.
  • There's a multiplayer mode called flood. They are very scary for younger viewers (screwed up faces, bloody bodies, and have a zombie type feeling).
  • A lot of the action and violence may be intense for some audiences. However, this is significantly muted by the stylized, science-fiction premise that this game takes.
  • Due note that players may become victims of cyber-bullying while playing with other players on Xbox Live via voice chat. Don't take this lightly. Players on Xbox Live are infamous for using particularly foul, sadistic language. This is especially true if the player is female, as she may encounter threats of sexual violence. But the player does has the ability to mute other players in gameplay and in the lobby.
