Very interesting low budget film - which tells the importance of family. A sad tale with amazing twist at the end- could there be a sequel ? Nicolette did an amazing job, writing and directing this film which took longer than expected to get into the cinema due to covid restrictions (filmed in Jamaica) . Thoroughly recommend this film.

I went to the UK premiere screening for this film and was really impressed with the acting and storyline. Nicolette (director) did a brilliant job with this production which was many years in the making.
I particularly enjoyed how the film covered many positive elements that can often go amiss; namely the importance of family and leading by example, encouraging your children to have aspirations and to focus on living their dreams, even if spreading your wings and doing so abroad is encompassed in that dream, amongst other positives.
The reality of crime and poverty is also addressed and the senselessness of ill thought decisions born through desperation really brings home the wider point of a lack of investment in policing, job creation and social support. An understanding of underlying socio/political and cultural issues on the island definitely help to answer many of the "why's" that this film conjures up for the viewer, though I don't feel that seeing the film would necessarily cause the viewers not to relate to the same issues elsewhere.
The cast did well in expressing the emotive elements of the film and I definitely feel that they were passionate about making the determination to bring this story to fruition a reality. I commend the cast and crew for what was delivered and no doubt would watch it again.

No turning back invites you to the heart of Jamaica, where a young boy is faced with adversity after the untimely killing of his mother. The cinematography in its form is raw and authentic; there are barely any camera tricks leaving the viewer to feel completely immersed in every aspect from beginning to end.
Although No Turning Back is a low-budget film, as we know, these films turn out to be cult classics. The actual premise of the film is dynamic and suspenseful, and there is room for a developing story; the dramatic plot twist ending left room for a sequel. It would be great to see what happens after to the sister, the uncle and the cousins.

Overall conclusion of this film was that it was amazing with the amount of revelation and drama with a twist at the end that could leave space for a potential sequel?
Great directing by Nicolette in terms of writing and directing the film and would highly recommend as it was worth the wait with the energy poured into it, true showcase of talent in Jamaica!
