Warning: Spoilers
"Madonna: Express Yourself" (from 1989, will have its 30th anniversary 2 years from now) is as the title already states the five-minute music video for the song "Express Yourself" by renowned singer Madonna, who was around the age of 30 when this was made. The director here is (at this point) prolific music video director David Fincher, still in his 20s then. And while I like some of Madonna's early stuff a lot, this one here did very little for me. The message may be somewhat inspirational, but I felt it was also a bit shallow and same goes for the music video all in all. I am not impressed. Madonna is blonde in here unlike what you may think judging from the title picture here on IMDb. He co-actors are not really known. This song and music video may come from the time that many consider Madonna's prime, but while I cannot really disagree with them, I have to give it a thumbs-down. Sounds like a relatively generic pop song with no memorable value at all. Don't watch or listen to. And don't even think of making a connection between this and the Fall of the Berlin Wall as this would be utterly pretentious.
