- John F. Kennedy: [recording of his famous speech being played back] Ich bin ein Berliner.
- Laura Cameron: You see, right there, he said 'I'm a Berliner'.
- Mike Ruskin: Yeah, in German, a 'Berliner' is a jelly donut.
- Laura Cameron: [laughs] He did not say 'I'm a jelly donut!'
- Mike Ruskin: Check your German dictionary.
- Dean Lowrey: Ready for Germany?
- Colette Valois: That's the rumor. Are you preparing to toast the President?
- Dean Lowrey: [chuckles] With anything but whiskey. I'm laying off the stuff for a while.
- Colette Valois: Are you?
- Dean Lowrey: Oh, yeah. And cigarettes. I've been told that they lead to dancing.
- Colette Valois: I'm surprised you remember.
- Dean Lowrey: [another chuckle] I remember having a lot of whiskey - and stepping on your foot. But you seem to be walking OK, so I guess, uh...
- Colette Valois: It was a moment, Captain. A nice moment, but that was all.
- Dean Lowrey: [steadies Colette after she stumbles on the steps to the plane and nearly loses her balance] You OK?
- Colette Valois: I'm fine, thank you.
- Dean Lowrey: [sensing all is not well with Colette] You sure?
- Colette Valois: No. I owe you an apology. I didn't mean to embarrass you...
- Dean Lowrey: [shakes his head, as if to shrug it off] Well, what are they gonna do, are they going to kick us out of the country? We're leaving.
- Colette Valois: It was a terrible mistake.
- Dean Lowrey: What - the party or the singing?
- Colette Valois: Coming to Berlin... at all.
- [Colette boards the plane first and Dean follows her a few seconds later]
- Kate Cameron: I'm going to kill Maggie.
- Colette Valois: Time for us to start watering down drinks.
- Kate Cameron: And plan on how we are going to kill Maggie.
- Ted Vanderway: Are you girls having a party back here?
- Colette Valois: We're a stewardess short on a plane full of drunk journalists.
- Ted Vanderway: Oh, Maggie stuck it to me, too. She stole my cigars.
- Kate Cameron: [on phone] Her cover has been blown. Eh, eh, she has no other options, she needs to defect.
- [takes a deep breath]
- Kate Cameron: She wants to defect.
- Roger Anderson: [on other line] Seventeen million East Germans want to defect. That's what the wall is for.
- Kate Cameron: Yeah, but she works for our side.
- Roger Anderson: As a low level courier.
- Kate Cameron: I am a low lever courier.
- Roger Anderson: We're not going to risk our entire East German operation for someone who can be replaced by a fifteen year old with a bicycle.
- Maggie Ryan: Kennedy loves stewardesses. I figure, if we go as a group, we have a pretty good chance getting in.
