Czech romcom
AfricanBro4 January 2022
When it starts you'll probably think men are trash, and later on realize women are trash too, maybe even worse for lashing out at their husbands for the exact same thing they're doing. The story has a very simple premise and it's lighthearted with several laughable moments that make it worth watching, it's not supposed to be taken seriously. Probably would have gained a little more popularity if it was British or American made.

wonderful feeling
Lassaed_Bayoudh12 May 2023
Watching this movie left me with a wonderful feeling, as it's rare to find a comedy that isn't superficial these days. I truly enjoyed it and was impressed by the performances of the actors, as well as the screenplay.. I laughed a lot and didn't feel any boredom throughout.

This film tackles the subject of infidelity between spouses in a unique and humorous way, while also maintaining a sense of seriousness. It didn't fall into silliness or trivialize matters, and it made me love all the characters in the story and understand their actions, even their flaws.

It's an outstanding film, and I invite everyone to watch it.

This movie will surely surprise you if you don't resist it.

This movie made me laugh out loud more times than I even expected. I had a bit disbelief when it started in a foreign language (Czech) but it seriously over-delivered. The acting was very natural I loved that you can see The genuineness in the actor's eyes. The director was creative so it stands out from the whole lot in the market. Every scene was well planned, well executed and visually appealing (even without 'the scenes'). The character arcs are similar for both the MEN and it's well justified. There are a lots of twists and moments that make you spill the water 50 meters far from your mouth because of the hard laughs. Not one thing in the whole movie felt forced nor for the characters nor for the audience. I really appreciate the Director for making it weirdly wholesome given the premise and for making it so simple yet beautiful of a movie.

Less than sophisticated take on extra marital shenanigans
Mozjoukine24 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
This Twenty First Century Czech notion of a raunchy comedy is pretty tacky despite the charm and film craft poured into it.

Following the line of the director's previous ZENY V POKUSENI, lecherous cab driver Polívka involves his struggling restaurateur son-in-law Machácek with sex bomb red head Kerekes. The plot is protracted to a passably agreeable resolution in the posh Max Cafe, with babies all round to follow.

The people and film craft are appealing, with the changing seasonal urban settings particularly striking in subdued colour but the story line is dodgy rather than winning.

Infidelity in Prague
Uriah4313 April 2019
This film essentially centers around two men named "Rudolf" (Bolek Polivka) and his son-in-law "Ondrej" (Jiri Machacek) who are both married and live in Prague. As it so happens, Rudolf is having multiple affairs and although Ondrej knows about them has kept this news from both his mother-in-law "Marta" (Simona Stasova) and his wife "Alice" (Petra Hrebickova). Then one day, while both of them have gone to play pool, a new prospective mistress for Rudolf by the name of "Carlotta" (Vica Kerekes) playfully puts her undergarments in the pocket of Ondrej's jacket and when Alice discovers it he naturally blames Rudolf. Alice then tells Marta and things take on a new life after that. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a fairly good comedy for the most part which benefitted greatly from the exotic location. Admittedly, it wasn't as light-hearted as I would have liked and it seemed a bit uneven at times but even so it was entertaining enough and for that reason I have rated it accordingly. Slightly above average.

Return of Tinto Brass
bagatur-1624722 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
One of the most famous films of "Czech Tinto Brass" has a rather simple and straightforward plot. So, the plot scheme is as simple as a rake: husband, wife, mistress. The husband goes to the left, the wife goes to the right ... but this is only so that the feelings between the spouses flare up with renewed vigor and in the end they realized that they cannot live without each other. It is no coincidence that I mentioned the name of the Italian master of eroticism here - this is the scheme according to which almost all the films of the great Italian were shot. Jiri Veydelek confidently walks along the path long beaten by the classics of the genre - the red-haired freckled beast Vitsa Kerekesh starred in one of the main roles, but the whole film can be admired not only by her charms, but also by the picture where the composition of the frame is made flawlessly. On top of that, in Weidelek we find that human dimension of heroes and that warmth that even Tinto Brass does not have. It is all of the above that leaves a pleasant aesthetic aftertaste, like a good dinner in an old Prague restaurant. So if you do not have money for foreign travel, or are not allowed into Europe due to coronavirus restrictions, this is a great opportunity to walk, at least virtually, through the narrow streets of the Czech capital, visit the places of military glory of Petrov and Boshirov, breathe in the enchanting aromas of the famous Prague coffee shop...

A story about marriage and love
poserpro18 November 2012
Warning: Spoilers
I didn't expect to watch this movie in the first few seconds cos it was a movie spoken in a language I wasn't familiar with. I thought it was a Polish film, but after I checked IMDb, I knew I was watching a Czech movie of 2011. And it turned out to be a great comedy I would like to experience in my life too, I am glad I have watched it to the ending credits.

It was actually a very funny and interesting movie that you would find it totally into it if you cherish the meaning of beautiful life, and marriage. The story slowly goes around the issue that keeping faithful to your spouse isn't easy for any one; in the movie, all lead characters are cheaters to their halves: the father-in-law, the husband, the mother-in-law, even the wife, but the ending was a happy one, despite the tragedy of the mother.

This is my first review posted at IMDb, I didn't manage to write a complete review, but trust my word, it is such a great one to entertain you and yours.
