Hanna-Barbara came up with a lot of different cartoon characters and series ideas over the course of a few decades, but this series and its opening episode are very derivative.
After the episode's opening theme song, which introduces how our three heroes made the acquaintance of a ghost and his ghostly cat, they stumble onto a farm which a villain is trying to take control of .... first by having a henchman saw down the farm's water tower.
The group comes upon the farm by having the ghost (Mudsy) drive, and he's not the best driver.
With a crashed dune buggy combined with a steam tractor from the farm (no, I didn't make that up LOL), they enter a race which happens to be occurring in this small farm community (I didn't make that up either) ... even racing against Formula One cars.
They must win to refinance the farmer! This starts the revisit of their Wacky Races series, since the race plays out very much like one of those cartoons.
