In the episode, Lance Rockett is worried that he may have caught an STD after sharing a beer with Faster Pussycat's lead singer Taimie Down. Originally in the script this joke was about sharing a beer with Warrant's lead singer Jani Lane, an event from Adam Green's real life. Two weeks before shooting the scene, Jani Lane (who had struggled with very public drug addiction) passed away suddenly in a hotel room. Green changed the joke out of respect for the late heavy metal singer.
For this episode (the season one finale), composer Bear McCreary paid homage to Elmer Bernstein's score to "Animal House" (a film directed by this episode's guest star John Landis). McCreary himself was the final select protégé of Bernstein, having studied with and worked for the legendary composer for nearly a decade.
This final episode of the season was dedicated to Cory Smoot, GWAR's guitarist ("Flattus Maximus") who died tragically during the making of season one.
