With its list of new releases for April 2023, HBO Max is premiering the final episodes of two major shows.
First up is the continuation of Titans season 4 on April 13. Returning after a four month hiatus, these next six episodes will be the last go around for HBO Max’s gritty live-action DC series. Arriving three days later on HBO proper is the fourth and final season of Barry. Bill Hader and the rest of the Barry team wrote themselves into a fascinating corner with the conclusion of season 3. And judging by the first teasers for season 4, this final batch of episodes will indeed catch up with our favorite actor/hitman in prison.
Other TV shows of note this month include the Pete Davidson-starring animated series Fired on Mars on April 20 (light ’em up) the the Elizabeth Olsen-starring true crime story Love & Death on April 27.

As sexual harassment becomes an increasingly widespread problem in the entertainment industry, more and more celebrities are using their platforms to speak out against an issue that was once overlooked. Former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Paulina Porizkova is the most recent to come forward about the matter, acknowledging that during her time as a model sexual harassment wasn’t viewed in the same light as it is today.
“Here is the funny thing about sexual harassment with us as models: It was seen as a compliment,” Porizkova told Page Six.

During this year's Hot Docs film festival in Toronto, I had the chance to speak with director/photographer Timothy Greenfield-Sanders about About Face: Supermodels Then and Now, a documentary that captures much more than the one-dimensional portraits of iconic supermodels whose familiar visages have been splashed across magazines, billboards, and catalogs for decades. His casual and easy demeanor with women like Cheryl Tiegs, Beverly Johnson, Isabella Rossellini, China Machado, Christy Turlington and Carol Alt encourages a frank level of anecdotal dialogue that occasionally manages to go beyond the easy-breezy world of fashion and into the more sinister aspects behind the business of beauty. It's fascinating, entertaining, and more than a little enlightening to hear the insight offered from industry veterans on topics like racism, drugs, exploitation, plastic...

For those with HBO, tune in tonight at 9pm to watch director Timothy Greenfield-Sanders' Sundance 2012 documentary, About Face: Supermodels Then And Now, which features some of the most famous supermodels of all time, including the legendary Bethann Hardison (above-left; one of the first Black models for giants like Calvin Klein, and Oscar de La Renta, who helped guide the careers of future supermodels like Tyson Beckford, Iman and Naomi Campbell and is the first Black editor-at-large for Vogue Italia online); also featured in the documentary are former supermodels Beverly Johnson, Jerry Hall, Christie Brinkley and others. Though the women (and one man, Calvin Klein) interviewed in photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders' new documentary about supermodels and aging are all veterans of the scene — from Christy Turlington, 43, to China Machado, 81 — the brief autobiographies and discussions of their heyday do little to illuminate anything new about the fashion world. Peppered throughout, though, are personal comments begging to be further explored. One of the year's most attractive documentaries is at hand.
"About Face: Supermodels Then and Now" makes its HBO debut Monday, July 30, after showings at this year's Sundance and L.A. Film Festivals. Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Paulina Porizkova, Carol Alt, Beverly Johnson, Isabella Rossellini, Kim Alexis, Christy Turlington Burns, Lisa Taylor, Marisa Berenson and Jerry Hall are among the models who give filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders ("The Black List") their thoughts on their industry past, present and future.
"I don't dwell on my career a lot," Tiegs tells Zap2it about re-examining her past for the project. "I am usually thinking forward, and certainly thinking of today. The nicest thing about doing the documentary was to catch up and see some old friends I hadn't seen for a long time.

Check out the first week of the games with three of the biggest sports kicking into high gear: Swimming, Gymnastics, and Track & Field are all getting their moments in primetime. Some of the world's most beautiful women speak frankly in a new documentary about the fashion industry's cult of youth
It is difficult to imagine why anyone would not want Isabella Rossellini at their party. But according to the 60-year-old model and actress, her age has led to her name dropping off glitzy guest lists.
"For sure, my social status has diminished because, for sure, I'm not invited to the A parties any more. My daughter is," she said.
Rossellini is among a group of women, famous for their beauty, who have taken part in a new documentary talking frankly about coping with getting older in a society and an industry notoriously in love with youth.

How could it be anything but, with such participants as Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Paulina Porizkova, Carol Alt, Beverly Johnson, Isabella Rossellini, Lisa Taylor, Marisa Berenson and Jerry Hall? If aging gracefully is the goal, then we can learn a lot from the legendary supermodels in HBO's new series "About Face: Supermodels Then And Now."
Directed by renowned photographer and filmmaker Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, the series explores the stories of fashion's most iconic models: Jerry Hall, Christie Brinkley, Isabella Rossellini and Bethann Hardison, to name a few. Boasting candid interviews and stunning images, the show is sure to be a hit.
A few of our favorite fashion icons, Beverly Johnson and Pat Cleveland, showed off their age-defying beauty last night in New York City to fete the show, which premieres July 30.
Beverly looked smashing in a semi-sheer black sequin dress and peep-toe booties. Not many 59-year-olds could pull off this sexy look, but Beverly's supermodel powers have clearly stood the test of time.
Opting for a more dramatic look, Pat donned a shimmering champagne-hued, off-the-shoulder gown for the event,...

Paulina Porizkova has had her fill of reality TV ... for now, anyway.
The globally famous model, a former contestant on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" and a past judge on The CW's "America's Next Top Model," is working on her own documentary while about to be seen in another: "About Face: The Supermodels, Then and Now," which HBO debuts Monday, July 30. That industry has its share of competition, and Porizkova is content with the amount she's experienced.
"I keep getting asked to do 'The Celebrity Apprentice,'" she tells Zap2it, "which I think is about right for me. Other than that, not so much, but I'm not particularly interested. 'Dancing With the Stars' was something I was interested in because of dance. I just thought it was wonderful to watch.

"Despite the Gods"
Aussie filmmaker Penny Vozniak's "Lost in La Mancha"-esque documentary “Despite The Gods," following director Jennifer Lynch and her experiences making her third film in India, is a low budget docu-delight. Lynch is the beating, empathic heart of the film, an endearing combination of raw emotional honesty and self-deprecating humor. After surviving a critical flogging at 19 for her first film "Boxing Helena," and enjoying the relative success of her second film "Surveillance," Lynch still had a lot to prove with her third film. However it is clear from day one this will not be the film she envisions it to be. The film in question is "Hisss," a Bollywood action tale of a snake that turns into a woman, and then back again. Though Vozniak's film is an interesting look behind the scenes at some the challenges of being an American director shooting in India (no...

Park City – Many of us poor mortals wake each morning to the rude response of the bathroom mirror, assaulting us with prune eyes, deepening crevices of marionette mouth, a jaw line turned to Jell-o. So listening to some of the most genetically blessed women of decades past ruminate on beauty and aging has the potential to chafe. Yeah, boo hoo, ladies, you got crow’s feet. But Timothy Greenfield-Sanders’ entertaining About Face is remarkably free of self-pity. Rather than gripe about the tyranny of youth, these gals celebrate the gains of age and experience with infectious enjoyment.

Director Timothy Greenfield-Sanders’ documentary About Face: The Supermodels, Then and Now interviews various supermodels who ruled the runways and magazine covers over the past few decades to get an idea of what their lives were like then and what it means now (as they get older) to be beautiful. Many came up during a time when modeling was just becoming a possible career and as Pat Cleveland points out none of them realized they were living history because at the time, “they were just living.” Many of these women got into the world of modeling not just because it seemed glamorous and exciting, but because it was one of the few ways women could become independent. Working in a photo studio was certainly more interesting than being stuck in an office, but it also allowed these women to work with various artists from designers to photographers to make up artists and hair stylists and be creative...

Once again, movie lovers and industry insiders will be gathering in Park City, Utah this month for the annual independent film orgy known as the Sundance Film Festival (January 19-29) with additional action unspooling at the longstanding alternative event known as Slamdance (January 20-26).
The Lgbt offerings for 2012 look to be slimmer than in years past but here's a sneak peek at some of the titles debuting in Park City that you'll be wanting to keep an eye out for at your local Lgbt film festival this year. Caveat: I have not actually seen any of these films except one (My Best Day which I heartily recommend).
At Sundance:
From out gay writer-director Ira Sachs (The Delta, Forty Shades of Blue) comes the autobiographical romantic drama, Keep The Lights On. Set in the late '90s against a New York City backdrop this is the lone gay feature in the highly competitive U.

Los Angeles — It'll be a busy shopping season at next month's Sundance Film Festival, whose star-studded premieres are up for grabs by potential theatrical distributors.
Some premieres usually enter the independent-film showcase with U.S. distribution already lined up. But festival director John Cooper said all the premieres that Sundance announced Monday will be looking for distributors.
"I don't think that's ever happened before," said festival director John Cooper. "It makes for a much more exciting buyer's market, I think. At least, lively."
Among Sundance's big-name premieres: Kirsten Dunst's wedding romp "Bachelorette," directed by Leslye Headland; Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones' Las Vegas bookie caper "Lay the Favorite," from filmmaker Stephen Frears; Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon's Wall Street saga "Arbitrage," directed by Nicholas Jarecki; Sigourney Weaver and Robert De Niro in Rodrigo Cortes' paranormal thriller "Red Lights"; and actor-director Julie Delpy's "2 Days in New York,...
