Through two episodes, The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has proven to be just what the long-running zombie franchise needed to recalibrate.
A big part of the show’s success is its ability to fill in the gaps about what happened to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) after they departed the main series several years ago.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live Season 1, Episode 2, was a Michonne-centric hour, telling us about her journey to reunite with the man she’s held on to hope has been alive for so many years.
Early into her mission, she comes across Nat, played by Matthew Jeffers, who crafts the incredible weapons and armor she’s seen with during an epilogue of the main series.

As what the show will essentially be about, he says that “it’s an epic love story, but it’s an epic and insane love story.”
“These are two people that have been separated for a very long time. They’ve lived whole other existences, and they have to find themselves again, let alone each other.

Comic book writer Robert Kirkman reportedly came under fire again for saying that his Invincible character Omni-Man would win in a fight against Superman. The comic book series, which has been adapted into an animated show by Amazon Prime Video has been garnering positive responses all around.
Kirkman’s creation Omni-Man is a similar all-powerful being in the known universe in the Invincible world. Omni-Man is similar to Superman in many ways, with both being alien entities who have escaped their home worlds to be on Earth and have superhuman abilities. Despite the similarities, fans seem to disagree with Robert Kirkman about Omni-Man winning the hypothetical battle.

Jon Stewart is back in the late-night Emmy race.
The Problem with Jon Stewart secured a nomination for Outstanding Talk Series alongside Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.
This comes as Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was moved to the Outstanding Scripted Variety Series category this year following seven consecutive wins for Outstanding Variety Talk Series. Oliver will compete against Saturday Night Live (and A Black Lady Sketch Show) in that category.
Last year, The Problem with Jon Stewart was nominated in the Hosted Nonfiction (Series or Special) category. However, it lost out to Searching For Italy with Stanley Tucci in that category.
Stewart won the late-night Emmy ten years in a row between 2003 and 2012 and again in 2015 for his final season of The Daily Show in 2015.

In 2015, the TV academy made the decision to split the variety series Emmy category into two separate ones in order to better recognize achievements in the talk and scripted subgenres. This year, there are 19 shows vying for spots in the Best Talk Series lineup. The amount of 2022 hopefuls was also 19, which was down from 20 in 2021 and 24 in 2020. Four of the series listed below will reap bids this year, giving each entry pretty good odds.
All 20,000 plus voting members of the TV academy have until June 26 to cast their ballots for their favorite talk shows. Unlike at the Oscars, voters for the Emmys do not rank their choices and nominees are determined by a simple tally.
Whereas they could previously make as many selections as they liked in each category, voters will now be limited to four choices here, reflecting the number of eventual nominees. Which of the talk series listed...

Exclusive: The late-night community is over the moon after it emerged that there will be five Emmy nominations this year.
Emmy voting opened today, and Deadline understands that there are 19 submissions in the Outstanding Variety Talk Series category, far more than expected, which, given the math, means that there will be five nominations this year.
One late-night source told Deadline this was “unexpected” but a “positive” move, meaning that that the sector no longer has to lament the loss of another Emmy slot.
Given that Last Week Tonight with John Oliver has been moved to the Outstanding Scripted Variety Series category this year after seven consecutive wins for Outstanding Variety Talk Series, it is a boon for The Daily Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live!

This post contains spoilers for "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462."
Early in its eight-season run, AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" crossed over into a 16-part web series, "Fear the Walking Dead: Flight 462," which followed the breakout of the zombie apocalypse aboard a commercial flight bound for Phoenix, Arizona. In the series, Michelle Ang's character, Alex, is always one step ahead of the other passengers when it comes to dealing with "walkers." She can recognize the signs that a person is infected, knows when to tie them up or lock them in the restroom, and knows where to aim a gun or knitting needle in order to put one down.
In real life, however, Ang was much more in the dark than her character when it came to her place in the "Walking Dead" universe. "Flight 462" premiered in October 2015, the same day that "Fear the Walking Dead" wrapped up its first season.

Before becoming one of the most divisive filmmakers in horror with the likes of Halloween and The Munsters, Rob Zombie was just a musician trying his hand at the film industry. House of 1000 Corpses came together fairly quickly following a failed attempt to reboot The Crow, but the rock star’s Hollywood career almost never was due to post-production controversy that left his directorial debut on the shelf for three years.
Production on Corpses was completed in 2000 before Universal Studios refused to release it due to its objectionable content. MGM later came on board to distribute it in 2002 until a tongue-in-cheek remark by Zombie caused them to cancel the deal. Finally, Lions Gate signed on and released it in April of 2003, launching Zombie’s film career as well as a franchise that would be followed by 2005’s The Devil’s Rejects and 2019’s 3 from Hell.

In April 2022, James Corden announced that he would be stepping down from his duties at "The Late Late Show" after hosting the late-night staple since 2015. Many speculated about who would take his spot as the successor to Tom Snyder, Craig Kilborn, and Craig Ferguson in the 12:35 a.m. time slot on CBS' schedule. But as we move closer to Corden's final days on the show, which are scheduled to air in spring 2023, no one has officially emerged as the next host. And it appears that the reason for this is that the network is doing away with the series entirely in favor of a fan-favorite format that debuted a decade ago that was canceled after 600 episodes.

“The Walking Dead” went out with a bang for AMC+ on Nov. 20, scoring the young streamer its highest single day of viewership ever.
The 90-minute series finale episode, which aired in the show’s usual 9p.m. Sunday slot on AMC’s linear channel and was available for streaming at that time on AMC+, is also the most-watched episode on the platform since it launched in October 2020.
On the linear side, the “Walking Dead” finale, titled “Rest in Peace,” also jumped in viewership from the long-running zombie drama’s previous weeks of airing its 11th season. While down considerably from its ratings heyday, “The Walking Dead” went out as the No. 2 cable drama in both the adults 18-49 and 25-54 age demographics for the 13th consecutive year.

The Walking Dead capped off an 11-season run on Sunday night, with the stars of AMC’s zombie hit celebrating the series finale at a fan event in Los Angeles.
Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Lauren Cohan and Melissa McBride, alongside their costars of past and present, walked the carpet at downtown’s Orpheum Theatre and weighed in on wrapping up the longtime show.
“These last few episodes really moved me in all ways the show has cumulatively done over the years, so I loved it,” Cohan told The Hollywood Reporter of reading the final scripts and learning now the series would end. “I think it demonstrates the friendship that these characters have; I think it demonstrates how we deal with loss and how inevitable loss is, and how we celebrate being together. And ironically, that’s really how I feel tonight, too.

This article contains spoilers for Tales of the Walking Dead episode 2.
One of the things Tales of the Walking Dead co-creator Channing Powell promised fans was something different. Powell said in an interview with Den of Geek that the show would “push the boundaries of the universe” and that the show “wanted to present a new option” for fans of long-running zombie television series The Walking Dead and its various spinoff properties. Given the sheer breadth of the franchise’s offerings, from the many web-only minisodes to the Talking Dead chat show to wrap up the night, that’s quite a task.
Just consider The Walking Dead itself. The show has clearly explored every element of horror short of extraterrestrial, from cities overrun with zombies akin to the best of George Romero to roving tribes of cannibals straight out of 1970’s Italy to body horror that would make Cronenberg jealous.

The Walking Dead killed off yet another of its major characters in last night’s episode. The penultimate installment of season 10a, “Open Your Eyes” saw Alexandria doctor Siddiq murdered by Dante, who it turns out was a Whisperer spy. It was a brutal end for the character, who recently became a dad, but there is is an upside to it if you think about what the good Siddiq has done for the community. At least, this is how former Twd star Chandler Riggs feels.
The Carl Grimes actor was on Talking Dead following the shocking episode yesterday. When asked if he thinks Carol would be proud of the man he saved and invited into Alexandria shortly before his death, Riggs agreed that he would.
Here’s how he put it:
“Totally, totally. Carl, when he found Siddiq, he just saw another person in need. So the fact that he brought him back,...

After about a year of speculation since she left during season 9 in 2018, Lauren Cohan finally announced earlier this month that she was returning to The Walking Dead as Maggie Rhee during season 10. We don’t know a lot more about the nature of her comeback just yet, but showrunner Angela Kang has teased that Maggie’s return will be of significance and tie into wider storylines.
Speaking on Talking Dead this Sunday, Kang offered a few hints about Cohan’s comeback, though she was careful not to give too much away.
“I don’t want to spoil too much about it, but we’re really excited about that Lauren’s coming back. We’ve been saying for a while that we have more stories to tell with her, and so, I’ll just say she comes in and there’s a lot of stuff going on. And there’s some...

AMC’s The Walking Dead had a Season 10 return that yielded the lowest-rated premiere in the show’s history.
The Walking Dead returned to AMC this past Sunday night, marking its monumental tenth season. However, while the show’s season number entered the realm of double digits, it appears that its oft-discussed ratings decline has manifested in double digits as well. Unfortunately for The Walking Dead, its season premiere has provided the smallest same day viewership yet.
The Walking Dead Season 10 premiere episode, “Lines We Cross,” earned 4 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among adults 18-49, representing a 34% decline in total viewers from last year's Season 9 premiere, which, itself, marked a series low. Additionally, there was a 35 percent decline in AMC's core demographic of adults 25-54 (2.9 rating to 1.9) and 42 percent in the aforementioned adults 18-49. However, as dire as those numbers appear, there is a mitigating narrative regarding...

Ninja zombies? Exec producers of The Walking Dead released one detail, one word only, about the highly anticipated movie spin-offs of the long-running franchise — it’s “ninjas.”
At a raucous panel with an estimated 5,000 fans at New York Comic Con, one devotee asked Scott Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe and series executive producer, for some color on the upcoming pics. What is known is that they continue the story of series hero Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln. He was last seen wounded and whisked away by strangers in a helicopter at the end of Season 9 after saving the remnants of civilization. He won’t appear in Season 10, which debuts Sunday, Oct. 6.
“Ninjas,” Gimple said. “You really got me on this one. We are working on it right now and hope to have some news for you in the next month of two.”

It’s summertime, which means San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter will heat up for the annual Comic-Con celebration of all things geek. The event has grown from its humbler roots of comic books and collectibles to be a full-fledged media extravaganza, where TV production companies and movie studios descend upon the welcoming, cosplaying masses to display their wares. It’s become a can’t-miss opportunity to debut new series, announce important casting, or unveil the next big blockbuster.
What does Comic-Con 2019 have in store now that two of the biggest franchises – “Game of Thrones” and “Avengers” – have wrapped up? And how will troubled productions or celebrities recoup their reputations? IndieWire’s TV team will be on the ground in San Diego to pose (and hopefully answer) these questions and more:

Ahead of AMC's The Walking Dead's Hall H panel later this week at Comic-Con, the first photo from the upcoming tenth season has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly.
The new photo (see below) features Michonne slashing walkers with her trusty katana against the backdrop of a forest on fire, and when you can't exactly call the fire department in the living dead apocalypse, a blaze like the one in the photo could lead to utter devastation if it goes unchecked.
Here's what The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang told EW about the fire in the photo:
“One of the things that we have going on this season is, we’re continuing some explorations of natural elements and how they play into our world. And fire is one of those elements that comes into play in a few key ways that twist the story in a way that will be pretty exciting.

“The Walking Dead” comic book, the source of one of the most successful franchises in television history, has come to an abrupt end: Creator Robert Kirkman made it clear at the end of issue #193 that he is ending the series after 16 years with no warning.
The comics provided the basis and inspiration for AMC’s long-running TV show of the same name, which is currently in its ninth season and has spawned two other shows. The end of the comic book raises questions about the future of the show, although the AMC drama has never followed the comic book precisely, and has rather offered its own takes on familiar characters and storylines.
“This is the end of The Walking Dead. That’s it… it’s over… we’re done,” Kirkman wrote in the final pages of the comic, which will be released Wednesday.

At the end of Sunday’s Season 5 premiere of “Fear the Walking Dead,” eagle-eyed viewers recognized a strange symbol of three interlocking circles that Althea (Maggie Grace) found on the uniform of a walker soldier. It’s the same symbol that was briefly seen on the helicopter that seemingly kidnapped Rick (Andrew Lincoln) during his final episode of “The Walking Dead” back in November. So what does it all mean?
“Fear” showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg were notoriously tight-lipped about the symbol when they appeared on “Talking Dead” with Chris Hardwick, but they did manage to tease a little something about the soldiers. “They may remain mysterious for a little while,” stated Chambliss, “but we can say they’re definitely not robots despite the wires sticking out of the uniforms. Maybe cyborgs, I don’t know. We will learn a lot more about that symbol and the soldier, and...
