Disney Princess fever has never been hotter -- just ask "Frozen" stars Elsa and Anna -- and the company is capitalizing on that popularity with a new Disney Channel series based on the studio's 2010 hit "Tangled."

If you loved Tangled you may want to check out the upcoming series Disney has coming our way in 2017! I'm excited, you can find out more after the jump!
Tangled to me (and my Tangled obsessed girlfriend) was one of the best recent animated movies from Disney animation and it totally underbloomed in comparison to later releases. Thankfully Disney has been hinting around looking for ways to expand the movie and have come to two outlets.
The first was a sequel that was initially being looked at, but the crew behind the movie said it wouldn't make any sense. The movie had a logical conclusion and it'd be hard to expand it into another film with purpose.
The idea didn't die though as the movie is now heading to TV with a new animated series! Disney announced today that they are making an animated series based off the 2010 hit and...

Back in 2010, Disney scored a big movie hit with the Rapunzel-themed “Tangled,” and earlier today (June 3) they announced an upcoming television series to debut in 2017.
Perhaps the most exciting aspect of the project is the fact that the original voice actors, Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, have agreed to reprise their roles as Rapunzel and Flynn. Moore tweeted, "Very excited for new adventures And music! Ready to jump back in, @ZacharyLevi?"
Per the Disney press release, "Set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 short film, Tangled Ever After, the animated series unfolds as Rapunzel acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom, and the people of Corona. While many of Disney’s recent critical and commercially successful animated features have come from Pixar, the animation juggernaut has proven itself still capable of making an impact with its own features, such as Big Hero 6 and Frozen. Among their recent successful ventures has been the 2010 feature Tangled, which put a new spin on the fairytale of Rapunzel. Disney revisited the world and characters it presented in a 2012 short called Tangled Ever After, and news has now emerged of a TV show revolving around the lead characters of Rapunzel and Flynn Rider that has been greenlit for a 2017 release on the Disney channel.
The show is set to air on the Disney Channel, and original voice stars Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi have been tapped to reprise their roles as Rapunzel and Flynn Rider respectively. Kevin Kliesch, the score producer for Tangled and the orchestrator for Tangled Ever After,...

Ok, ok, this is not some hot fresh news, and you’ve probably already watched Disney’s Tangled Ever After, but hey in case you’ve missed it – here’s your perfect chance to finally check it out! It’s funny, it’s cute, it’s lovely, it premiered before the 3D theatrical re-release of Beauty and the Beast and… what else you want to hear?
So, it’s Rapunzel and Flynn Rider’s wedding day, and Pascal and Maximus are the ring bearers. But – they accidentally lose the wedding rings! And that’s where the fun begins…
They eventually retrieve the rings in time for the ceremony, but cause immense collateral damage and get themselves dirty. Then they accidentally “lose” the wedding cake.
Directors Nathan Greno and Byron Howard stand behind Tangled Ever After, and as you already know, the voice-cast includes Mandy Moore as Rapunzel and Zachary Levi as Flynn.

Chicago – It’s that wonderful time of year when we look back on the 11 months that just sped by and try to capture what was best, worst, overlooked, and more. While most of these pieces will just make people disagree, our annual cavalcade of year-end features starts with a piece that you can use to do your holiday shopping! These were the best Blu-ray releases of 2012, a year that saw a bit of a plateau in the technology but still produced enough quality to make a top 20 easy to produce.
First, a few notes.
Considering how easy it would be simply to make a top ten list that was comprised entirely of Criterion Collection Blu-rays, the tough decision was made to eliminate them entirely from contention. While it would be unfair to include them as they’d probably take up at least half the list, it seems just as unfair to ignore them entirely.

While it would be unfair to include them as they’d probably take up at least half the list, it seems just as unfair to ignore them entirely.

Cinderella (1950) Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment Blu-ray and DVD Available Now
The Walt Disney classic finally makes it high definition debut. Though it was made over half a century ago, Cinderella remains a timeless work of animation. Part of its lasting appeal can be attributed to the amazing concept art of Mary Blair, whose gorgeous backgrounds and unique color palettes help to define its iconic visual style. Though she was only credited with color and styling, her influence in the look and feel of the finished product cannot be denied. Another aspect that is often overlooked is the lovely vocal contribution by actress Ilene Woods. She brings a measured confidence to the beloved heroine and her singing voice is as gorgeous as the animation.

Chicago – It’s the season for an increasing number of titles on the Blu-ray New Releases shelf that are vying for a spot on your holiday wish list and Disney movies make an appearance every season. Every year, Disney reaches into the vault and pulls out another classic, giving it an HD upgrade and new special features. First and foremost, “Cinderella” looks stunning. Years from now, the Disney classic Blu-ray releases will be looked at as game-changers when it comes to animation in HD. The movie is more visually accomplished than most Blu-rays of films that were theatrically released last year. The...

Walt Disney Home Entertainment brings their most famous princess to Blu-ray with the Cinderella Diamond Edition. When people talk about Disney Princesses, Cinderella is the first one that comes to mind. Although it's obviously targeted to a female audience, there's enough humor found in the antics of the mice, the cat Lucifer, the Prince's father, and his assistant to keep male audiences at least mildly entertained for the movie's 75-minute runtime. This is an exceptional fairy tale film, although a true element of evil like a witch or a sorceress who can turn herself into a dragon is sorely missed. Evil stepmothers just don't hold the same peril for me as something supernatural.
After her father dies, Cinderella is left to the mercy of her stepmother. The wicked lady puts her stepdaughter to work as a servant. She cooks and cleans after the vile stepmother and her two daughters with...

Over sixty years have passed since Disney’s Cinderella first screened to mass audiences. Yet, the film is as poignant today as it was over a half century ago.
The storybook tale of a young girl and her mice friends is filled with a heartfelt abundance of laughs and toe-tapping music. Whether you’re listening to a group of mice singing “The Work Song” or Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother casting magical enchantments to the tune of “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo”, it’s hard not to instantly fall in love with Cinderella’s soundtrack. The humor holds up surprisingly well. Watching Gus and Jaques (both voiced by James MacDonald) face off against Lady Tremaine’s cat Lucifer never gets old.
The new Diamond Blu-ray release features a crisp 1080p HD picture, presented in a 1:33:1 aspect ratio. The sound has been remastered to optimize all the music tracks. Listening to Ilene Woods, who voiced Cinderella,...

Cinderella is, perhaps, Disney’s most enduring animated feature. Though Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs predates it in terms of princess movies, Cinderella has had an even more lasting effect on children around the world. So, this 1950 film finally being released on Blu-ray is cause for celebration simply because of its event-like status. By itself, Disney’s so-called Diamond Edition of Cinderella on Blu-ray is an excellent upgrade from the two-disc DVD, a sparkling transfer from old to new. If, however, you’re hoping for an extremely in-depth look at the film unlike what you may have seen or known in the past, you may be let down a bit.
The colors and designs of Cinderella are heightened and made more stunning in this high-definition transfer. In particular, the size and scope of the two main settings, the mansion where Cinderella toils as the chief servant to her evil stepmother,...

The Movie Pool couldn't wish for a better Blu-ray than Disney's Cinderella Diamond Edition!
The Set-up
Walt Disney's twelfth animated feature film tells the classic tale of Cinderella (originally written by Charles Perrault), a young girl forced to work as a servant for her evil stepmother and stepsisters. With the help of a fairy godmother, Cinderella breaks free of her bondage and wins the heart of a young prince.
The Delivery
Released in 1950, Cinderella was Disney's followup to Bambi released eight years before, and it was one of the final films considered among the studio's true classics. By the 1960's, Disney would suffer from a lack of originality and lower budgets, which it finally overcame with The Little Mermaid and the Disney Renaissance. The films of the 1950s, led by Cinderella, would be Disney's last hurrah for a while.
With a classic storybook art design and nice mix of rotoscoped humans and signature Disney animals,...

Beauty And The Beast 3D
Review by LondonFilmFan
Stars (the voices of): Paige O’Hara, Robby Benson, Richard White, Jerry Orbach, Angela Lansbury, David Ogden Stiers | Written by Linda Woolverton, Roger Allers | Directed by Gary Trousdale, Kirk Wise
With the immense box office success of The Lion King‘s 3D conversion last year, it was only a matter of time before similar films followed suit. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is highly regarded as an animated classic, so who is to argue with a 3D theatrical re-release then? Well, this reviewer volunteers (may as well add “as tribute” since this unpopular opinion just might spell my end). Over twenty years after its initial release, there seems little reason for the film to be occupying cinema space again.
While the hand-drawn animation has an uneven charm, there isn’t much that holds up visually when compared with modern animation.

The success of Disney’s live-action resurrection of Alice in Wonderland has sparked a new trend in Hollywoodland. In keeping with the last decade, it is still one where stories are recycled. Risk still reigns, but there’s a surge coming from studios to rediscover fond fairy tales, with a modern twist.
It’s the reason there are two Snow White modernizations in theaters within ten weeks (and another on the way). Why we’ve seen the return of Red Riding Hood, Alice, Sleeping Beauty and more, and why we’re expecting live-action adaptations of Hansel & Gretel (“witch hunters”), Tinkerbell, multiple Peter Pans, Maleficent, and more Snow White.
And, if you trace them back, many of them point to Alice in Wonderland super producer Joe Roth, who was chairman of Walt Disney Studios from 1994-2000. Roth Films is behind Snow White and the Huntsman, Oz: The Great and Powerful, Maleficent...

Beauty and the Beast 3D isn't the only Disney project that will be hitting theaters this weekend. Attached to all of those prints will be Tangled Ever After, a new short that follows the events of the 2009 animated film and features the wedding between Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. The only problem is that Pascal and Maximus are having some trouble keeping hold of the rings... We brought you the first clip from the short film late last week, in which the two animals lose the tiny pieces of jewelery, and now we have a second clip for you, which features the pair in hot pursuit. Check it out! I actually got to see the full short in front of my screening for Beauty and the Beast 3D earlier this week (you can see my 3D review here) and I can tell you that it's a ton of fun. Maximus and...

Disney devotees heading to the theater will get to see Tangled Ever After, an epilogue of 2010′s Tangled, that will serve as the opening to the film. We were already treated to a sneak peek of the short, where a gargantuan sneeze sends Rapunzel and Flynn’s wedding bands skidding away after they walk down the aisle. Here, a mad dash to recover the runaway rings is complicated by...

The Pursuit clip from Tangled Ever After, starring Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore. The new clip will show in front of Disney's Beauty and the Beast 3D, which we gave a perfect 5/5 score to in our review, and opens in theaters today. Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, helmers of the successful Tangled, direct the short Tangled Ever After, where the kingdom is abuzz over the royal wedding of Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi). Tangled performed well domestically and overseas, grossing $200.8 million and $389.9 million respectively. This new clip joins the first one we added in the beginning of January which is also highly recommended. Be sure to catch Beauty & the Beast 3D this weekend so you don't miss this great short.

For many, including myself, Beauty And The Beast is still the crowning glory of Disney’s animated films. It marked a high point for the pairing of the studio’s great animation team with songwriters Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. The story boasted the shape and sound of a Broadway musical – which is exactly what it became several years later. Nominated for the Best Picture Oscar in 1991, the film won the awards for best score and best song. Re-issued in the Imax format with and extra number (“Human Again”) in 2004, Beauty And The Beast has now received the retro-fitted 3D treatment and opens in theaters today.
The question: is it worth plunking down ten dollars or more (plus the three buck 3D surcharge) to see a movie we’ve all owned on video for years? Disney’s motivations may be somewhat less than altruistic. This is, after all, a relatively...

Movie review of Beauty and the Beast 3D. Beauty and the Beast 3D is wintertime gift to fans who cherish family entertainment of Tiffany caliber. Beauty and the Beast Returns to cinemas as Disney's sophomore 3D re- release after a limited theatrical run last year at the El Capitan cinema in Los Angeles. Think of it as a wintertime gift to children of all ages who cherish family entertainment of Tiffany caliber. The lure of its 3D is modest, especially a 3D conversion as nonexistent as this one. The appeal of Beauty and the Beast 3D is simply the chance to see Beauty And The Beast in theaters one more time. As an added bonus, Disney opens the feature with the fun animated 3D short Tangled Ever After featuring Rapunzel (Mandy Moore) and all the lovable characters from its 2010 hit movie Tangled back again for Rapunzel's marriage to Flynn Rider...
