- Franklin and Bash are hesitant about representing a man who held up a pizza place with a cheese gun, but when they suggest to Damien to switch cases and he jumps at the chance, they know something worse is just around the corner. They are now representing Stanton's second and fourth ex-wife who, in her words, rescued a dog, but in legal terms stole a dog.—napierslogs
- Open with the guys trying out some motorcycles. The consider using their bonuses from the firm, then remember they are late for a meeting with Pindar and a possible client. They put the bikes on hold.
Evanthia, one of Infeld's ex-wives, walks into the firm. She tells Hanna someone is trying to take her dog Lulu. Infeld says Hanna and Damien will be taking the case.
Pindar's client is a poor man named Bill who makes cheese. Bill says he robbed a pizza place because he lost his job and is taking care of his sick father. He made a gun out of a hard cheese and ate the evidence. While the guys debate if they can let Pindar handle Bill's case by himself, Damien comes by and wants to dump Evanthia's case on them. They agree as long as he represents Bill with Pindar.
Evanthia tells the guys she found the dog wandering alone four months ago, clearly alone. She put up signs but nobody claimed her. Evanthia was Infeld's second and fourth wife. A few months ago a young woman who has pictures with the dog began claiming ownership.
In court the guys run into Kerry Dutton's defense team, old friends Jango and Rossi. The guys are confident they'll win quickly. Rossi argues in court that it's a simple stolen property case and says the dog's real name is Maxine, not Lulu. They argue Kerry searched for the dog but couldn't find it.
After watching an online video of the robbery at Lucky Louie's, Damien and Pindar say they should be able to get the weapons charge dismissed and Bill should only end up with probation.
On the stand Evanthia says she'll do anything to keep Lulu.
Because the robbery video has gone viral, the prosecutor tells Damien that his boss wants Jim to do at least five years in order to send a message. Jim hints that there might be a co-conspirator, but he won't tell his lawyers anything.
An animal shelter employee says the dog was brought to location 15 miles from where Evanthia found it. Evanthia returned to claim it on the morning of the tenth day, with ten days required by law for ownership. Evanthia seems clearly to still miss Infeld.
The judge agrees to place the dog in third-party custody until a verdict is reached. Since the prosecution team has cats, Franklin and Bash agree to keep Lulu so she doesn't have to go to the pound.
Damien and Pindar visit Bill's place. They want to put him on the stand to prove poverty was the reason he stole the money. He admits that a vendor named Chuck told him the pizza place was perfect, as there were no weapons on the premises and it would be a tax write-off for the owner. Chuck told him he'd get off if he was respectful.
Evanthia admits that she has watched Lulu be treated poorly by Kerry and thinks she saved its life.
The guys' plan is to prove the dog was in danger. They send Carmen out to look for information on Kerry. The guys are paranoid Jango and Rossi's claim they've sold out is correct.
Hanna suggests that perhaps Infeld is nice to Evanthia because he feels guilty for breaking her heart.
Jango and Rossi want to call the dog as a witness. They tells the judge they want to have the dog choose its rightful owners. The judge says no, but on their way back from the sidebar Jango purposefully "drops" the dog to the ground, allowing it to run to Kerry. The judge holds Jango and Rossi in contempt, and tells the jury to disregard.
Chuck tells Carmen he didn't tell Jim to rob the place, adding that he's a minority owner of Lucky Louie's.
Pindar notices that the viral video links directly to a Groupon for the restaurant. He wants to open the books on the pizza joint.
The guys tell Evanthia it will tough for the jury to ignore what it saw. Carmen calls with word that she's found one of Kerry's old boyfriends and it doesn't look good for Evanthia.
Lucky Louie himself is put on the stand. He says he had no idea the gun was not real and testifies he was scared, specifically mentioning he was scared he'd never see his wife again. On cross Damien points out that having the robbery on camera has helped business. Damien enters into evidence a receipt proving the cameras were put in three days before Bill's robbery.
A dog expert testifies that Lulu's breed was bred to catch rats. The guys bring a new witness, Andre Carson, who is the dog's real owner. He's Kara's ex, who testifies that while he was out of the country Kerry stole the dog, along with her papers. He points out that she's wearing one of his dress shirts right now. She throws the shirt at Andre and starts yelling about him having affairs. The judge tells the attorneys that he's giving custody to Andre pending him tracking down the dog's legal papers.
The jury finds Bill guilty only of a misdemeanor, meaning no jail time.
Infeld and Hanna drop by Evanthia's place with a new dog. He admits that Evanthia was the one who ended things with him. They find she's there with Andre (who is giving him visitation privileges) and the two appear to be sleeping together.
