Last two episodes just ruined the whole drama
tanushree-raha101914 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Ok here are my two cents.

Since BM was the driving factor of this whole drama you expect that the revelation would be grand right? But...nope it wasn't, it was so underwhelming. And why was Pak Chang Ho's best friend was in the organisation?? The answer was never given. Still, I was just about the digest the fact that the room leader is the great BM who has conned almost all the big shots he got murdered in like in 10 mins 😂.

Now Choi Doha became the villian and he got killed off in just 5 seconds.

I think once Park Changho got released from the prison the whole went upside down. Till 14th episode I just loved it but last 2 episodes couldn't match up the previous ones. Writers thought that they could wrap the whole 16 episodes in a few minutes. It just doesnt feel rushed, it felt like a betrayal of trust. The ending felt very out of character for the main leads.

But this is LSJ's best work till now. He was just awesome.

7/10 for now
truth-teller5 September 2022
I would have waited until the whole drama had aired, and maybe not even reviewed it all, but the 10 or so gushing reviews so far prompted me to say something after episode 12.

I get that ladies love LJS (and I am one of them) but he wants to be known for his work as a good actor, and not just to be uncritically promoted by his fans in incoherent posts that praise everything he does. Ditto for the Yoona fans who get together and bombard every platform with positive messages. This is a review section not a fan wall.

Yes it's fun guessing who Big Mouse is, and events move fast with a lot of twists and turns, but just as with sleight of hand and card tricks, sometimes so fast it disguises improbable plot progression and also attempts to hide the holes. With four episodes to go, it's all action and no explanation, lots of icing and maybe less cake than expected. Viewers are put in the position of having to accept this or abandon the ability to suspend disbelief and start asking awkward questions instead.

The acting across the board is very good with compelling performances by Kim Joo-hun as the dodgy Mayor Choi and Yang Kyung-won as the over-the-top media king Gong Ji-hoon. With an overwhelmingly male cast, the handful of females manage to hold their own, and Lim Yoo-na does a decent job. However the acting honours go to LJS, whose performance as Park Chang-ho holds the whole thing together.

The speed at which events travel, the constant ups and downs of just about every character, is slick but exhausting. I may return to this review when I've finished the whole series and I hope it manages to keep all the balls in the air until the very end. For now, I could wish for more sense and less sensation, but let's see how it goes.

Great First Half
IPyaarCinema15 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The first half of the drama was what got me hooked! There were so many questions that were unanswered and the biggest one was "Who is Big Mouse?". There were a lot of theories and speculations regarding this and one of my favorites was the theory that Big Mouse was Park Chang Ho and he's just fooling the viewers. This theory is definitely so much better than the actual Big Mouse reveal (the Room Leader). He had no charisma & no authoritative vibe as a person who supposed to be a leader of such organization.

Because Big Mouse is the driving factor of this whole drama, of course when we reveal who the real Big Mouse is, it should be grand right? No. The Big Mouse reveal was so underwhelming that it made me feel that there was more nuance to this, but there wasn't. And then it got revealed that Park Chang Ho's best friend was in the Big Mouse organization too which was totally out of left field because we never learned what the reason behind him being in this organization was. After a disappointing reveal, the great Big Mouse who conned everyone got killed off in like 10 seconds and so Park Chang Ho became the new Big Mouse. What is funny to me is that when Big Mouse wasn't revealed, everyone had a difficult time figuring out the mastermind behind this alias. But when Park Chang Ho became Big Mouse, he was walking around the neighborhood with lines of bodyguards and followers and people bowing to him as if he was parading around that he is the new Big Mouse.

We were introduced to so many plot points prior to the final episodes and so the ending was rushed. It felt as if the drama completely changed its tone after Chang Ho got out of prison - it became dull. The elder was portrayed as someone who got immense power but he was killed off in an instant. The main villain Choi Doha was also killed off too fast and easily so it felt anti-climactic. Miho's death had no impact to it, I was expecting it to be more emotional because she's literally one of the main characters but it felt flat.

Hands down best drama of 2022
glazemj21 August 2022
A modern take on The Count of Monte Cristo. Lee Jong Suk returned to the scene with a vengeance. He plays the character Park Chang-ho, a fast talking lawyer who gets tangled in a murder trial and ends up in prison. While trying to clear his debts.

Lim Yoona plays the dedicated wife, Miho, whose unwavering support, along with her lawyer father and his partner, help Chang-ho reveal the truth.

This drama has me on the edge of my seat. Just watch it, you won't be disappointed.

My ONLY grip is I had to jump through hoops to watch it in the US. Disney really missed an opportunity for the world to see this fantastic drama.

The masterpiece comeback
priyanshuraj-2980013 August 2022
"Lee Jong suk" the actor that never fails to entertain us with his masterclass acting and must say what an acting by Yoona she indeed worked hard for this drama. The cast are too perfect for their specific roles. Anyone hesitating to watch this drama, please do try it's just perfect in my opinion ( I have been watching K-drama since 3 year just for your clarification). Every episode has its own impact and full of logical suspension.

The way it started, should have been the way it ends too.
pranayjalvi1 October 2022
Big Mouth is the perfect example of a classic thriller. The increasingly high ratings for all the episodes indicate just how riveting the show is. Sadly, where one would expect it to end with a bang, it concludes with more of a fizzle.

If you're looking for intrigue and shock, then Big Mouth has it for you. The plot is fast-paced, gripping and ticks all the thriller check-boxes. There are twists and turns, alliances and political games, and a realistic look at how hierarchies and power structures work. Packed with suspense, the moments of revelation are some of the show's best scenes.

A story is only as effective as its ending. If it can't stick the landing, all the preceding hours of excellence can feel like a waste. This is the problem with Big Mouth. While it gave us fourteen enthralling episodes, the last two just don't live up to the same quality and rushed without any development towards the end at all. All in all, Big mouth is still a strongly crafted thriller which should be watched fpr it's tension and suspense, with a subtle pinch of romance.

My Rating : 8.5/10.

A Korean drama with so much promise yet delivered so poorly at the final episode
bumberbee18 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
As ridiculous and unbelievable as most Korean dramas get,I found myself sucked into the series from the get-go. Interesting plot lines with so many loopholes but still entertaining.

However. The poor writing finally showed at the final episode which I felt was the worst final episode I've ever witnessed in any Korean drama. And I have watched plenty.

I would rate the first 14 episodes a good 8.5 and would recommend everyone I knew. The final 2 episodes were a dismal 4 at best and the finally episode 16 was so laborious I found myself fast forwarding half the time.

Such a poor ending that would have been so good if the writers knew what they were doing. I hope the do release an alternative ending seeing that 99% of all Korean dramas end after a single season.

What a waste of time! Don't watch this. The ending is so bad I don't even want to describe it lest it dregs up painful memories.

Shame on you writers for the disgusting final episode. Don't quit your day job.

Well I didn't expect much, till I watched some of it.
easypzee24 August 2022
TBH I can into this show with low expectations. Starts off just like typical dramas, but boy, do the plot twists blow you mind and have you applauding. The actors are great too. You find yourself running home to see the next episode. Of courses there are great performances to pull all this off.

If you do get past the first half of the first episode you will be hooked, rooting for the characters.

They should also do a western remake of this.

This is an unexpected joy. A masterpiece.

Good series bad ending
harinarayan-4359417 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I loved everything about this drama until ep 13 after that it was ok but the ending left me disappointed a little. I didn't like the way they treated hye jin character yeah she died but i was like story just mention her going missing 2 times but they don't even try to find what happened to her . Lets go with star cast lee jung suk i always loved his acting i liked how he went from a naive lawyer to cunning big mouth.

Please 🙏 give me more such wonderful kdrama Im yoon ah acted her character splendidly chemistry was good between both .

Cha doha character could have been better it's not that its bad but it could have been better.

Ending left me dissatisfied bcz it was rushed.

Overall it was awesome watching it.

Almost there
IamGrtl18 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I really liked this series. It kept me entertained throughout the development of the plot and intrigued in all the plot twists.

However there are some problems that need to be addressed. First of all, the whole plot has several holes that didn't get to be explained just because of a major plot twist that makes you completely forget about them. That is until you finish the episode and you think about the storyline. I get it, it is cool to see Changho outsmart everyone else, and it was fun for me as well but some attention should be given to the storyline as well otherwise the plot becomes far-fetched and almost sci-fi.

Furthermore I know lee Jong-suk is very popular and to be honest he did an outstanding job in this series but in a tv drama the main actor should not be everything you like, try not to give your review only based on him. That said, his acting was really good and he deserves the appreciation.

SPOILER: now the ending... I personally didn't mind minho dying but I was disappointed by the way the last episode was directed.

The death of Minho prompted Changho to use the power that comes with being big mouse and I found it entertaining but it lasted maximum 10 minutes.

The last 5 minutes are ridiculous. I mean what was the point of the whole plot? Just to see Minho and Doha die? The montage at the end felt like a joke. I would have preferred if they had added another episode to let us see how Changho lived without her and being big mouse to its full potential. The disappointment of the last episode made me want to lower my rating even more, the first and last episodes are always the ones you remember best. Nevertheless I have to be honest in giving my rating as well and since I really liked the rest of the series, 8 seemed the right rating.

All of this to say that yes, it is a really enjoyable series and most of it is well done but one must admit its weaknesses as well.

Good, could have been excellent...
ritusonisoni-4330517 September 2022
Overall I really liked this drama. Though the ending was sad, but it was justifiable. I do want to add some shortcomings, 1)The ending seemed rushed, it was like reading a novel , you are connecting with all characters of it, in each chapter but in end, there is one paragraph written with one line for each character, ending it in a good note, but by this you don't really connect to any emotion of protagonist.

2) In few last episode, a new plot was added, so till last episode I waited for a new character to appear, but none appeared, I felt this plot was really un-necessary for the main plot...

Episode 1-15 : NICE! Episode16 : NOPE!
syamrezca18 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
SPOILER WARNING!

Choi Do Ha is genius. He always seemed to be one step ahead of Park Chang Ho (The one who acted like a child on the first episode but then turns out to be clever and cool after a few episodes thanks to the inconsistence of the writers... yeah right.)

After 16 episodes and yet Do Ha still wins.

He anticipated every move.

Aaaand... Since the series HAD to end, the writers of the series decided they need to make Chang Ho win, so they decided that Chang Ho secretly filled the pool with radiated water from the plant to kill Choi Do Ha.

This is how that scene went: Choi Do-ha wraps up a swimming session at his regular place when Chang-ho shows up and says he bought the building. He says that he is Big Mouse and will keep fighting Do-ha. When Do-ha shows no remorse for the cancer victims of NK Chemical, Chang-ho says he made the right decision. As Do-ha coughs out blood, Chang-ho reveals the swimming pool had the same wastewater mixed into it. He wants Do-ha to feel the same pain the victims did.

Then Choi Do-Ha dies.

IN SHORT: THE ONLY WAY PARK CHANG HO COULD DEFEAT CHOI DO HA IS ONLY BY KILLING HIM.

Ha Ha Ha

WHAT... THE... ACTUAL... F...

Oh and then they threw a bunch of montages showing some scenes that they expect would cheer up the audience.

Do not waste your time to watch episode 16 (the ending).

Save your time. Thank me later.

Acting to the plot! Everything is so perfect! Cannot really wait for the upcoming episodes. Thank god this is not like any other married couple drama with a weak female lead and Yoona had done an amazing acting! Kudos to the team!

Game of Thrones all over again
SpongeeBobbu12 January 2024
If you've watched Game of Thrones, you know what the title means.

This drama has so much potential to be the best I've watched that are about gangster and shi. So many plot twists that could hype you up UNTIL they rushed the ending. Last episode ended with so much mess that it hadn't sank in me yet that the series already ended. No closure at all. Like I questioned myself, "What the hell? Is that it?". It's like I just wasted my time watching it. So many plot holes that are not resolved in the conclusion. It's the writers fault that they introduced so much characters that they don't even tend to explain and finish their story. Props to the actors tho especially to the main villain that you will hate so much. Would rate this as 4 but I love the casts' acting so I added 2 lol. But if someone ask me if I would vouch for this series, I wouldn't recommend this to them. Ending's just not worth it.

Hats off to this Drama
cyraa25 September 2022
One of the best K-drama I've ever watched . First 11 episodes are literally breathtaking & full of suspense but ending could be better. I must admit Lee jung-suk & Kim joo hun's acting was mind blowing. They played their character perfectly. Other important characters like Female lead ,Jerry, Director juhee & Gong jihoon were good too. Ending of former Big-Mouse wasn't as great as it was showed in the drama. How come a mafia king like big mouse would die like a street dog!! He had no security, no bodyguards? There were some incomplete plots too otherwise this drama is really good. I'm literally impressed with story, VFx, acting & music. Love this drama...

Honest review!!!!! A great story but one of the worst ending
vivekchowdhary-861749 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
From the starting of the series it's promises a lot. Starting episode so good so much twist and turns but last 4-5 episode starts dragging the story, direction and story become worst. Starting story line is good but ending is veey disappointed.

Spoiler- the way miho died and doha justice serve show was shown is one the worst direction ever seen in kdrama.

And again one the main mystery leave unturned was chief's son. Some suspense created but left unturned.

From the starting story big mouse mystery is the best part of the storyline which kept the shown so good. The way they show the big mouse ending is also dissappointed.

Some people's giving good rating just because it's a kdrama, please give a honest review on the storyline.

Exciting Thriller
cjbrackett4 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I thoroughly enjoyed Big Mouth. Lee Jongsuk is always a favorite of mine, and he was fantastic as Park Changho. I love a complex story that has many different characters with competing motivations. There were unanswered questions in the end, but none that bothered me.

The production value is high and acting is mostly very good. A few times I thought the story was getting too convoluted, but every time I started to think that, something happened to switch gears that sucked me back in. What I really enjoyed is that basically every one of my suspicions was confirmed, but they also happened in a way that I didn't predict.

I had seen complaints about the ending, and I often find the endings of kdramas lacking, so I prepared myself to be underwhelmed. I loved it, though. I thought it was poetic, and that Miho's death strengthened the narrative. If I'm watching a romance, I will not watch if doesn't have a happy ending, but the ending of Big Mouth worked really well for me.

I'd been waiting months to watch this (thumbs down to kdramas being released on Disney+), and it was worth the wait. I can see why it topped the ratings every (or almost every I'm not exactly sure) week it aired.

jyotiprakashdas-9404018 September 2022
Climax is disappointed.. if someone saw the last episode then never be given 10 rating in imdb. How can fool the public you can understand after see climax scene . Personally I want 1 or 2 episode more not expected a easy and formal climax from this series..first episode to 15 episode mind-blowing.. but last episode how can directer finished it not perfect ending and also not given perfect of miho and bigmouse ending scene. And also not given perfect punishment to all bad baadaas.. finished it as quick as well.. it's show like timeline given by producer that's why they quickly. If you want to see it .. FULLY WORST LAST EPISODE.

South Korea for the win.
thegermanhermit1 December 2022
Just watch, you'll thank me later. This show is incredible. You'll almost certainly end up rooting for characters you hated, hating characters you once pulled for and will make you question your sense of justice and what is good and what is evil. The entire cast is impeccably chosen and deliver in every second of every episode. The writing is of the highest level and that's saying something considering the truly amazing shows coming out of South Korea. The brutality, suspense, hopelessness and rage are at times overwhelming but the vein of hope that runs through the show is always present. Just make sure you have a weekend free so you can binge the entire series.
