Michael Jackson helped define the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. For that reason, he will forever be known as one of the greatest geniuses in the history of pop and R&b music. However, the King of Pop watched another singer from the same time period in awe. He was lucky enough to watch this singer record one of the most acclaimed albums of all time.
A 1970s star told Michael Jackson to paint pictures using sound
Jermaine Jackson was a member of The Jackson 5. Pokemon Go is a title that took the mobile gaming industry by storm and was an instant hit among fans of the Japanese media franchise. The gameplay loop, which encouraged people to catch Pokémon by finding them in the real world, was a unique experience and a differentiator for the title.
Now, the title, which came out in 2016, has received a new update, which has become a talking point for game players. The new update has affected the player avatars in the game, and it suffices to say that players are dissatisfied with it.

Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen recently earned a new milestone when the protagonist of the anime and manga series made a cameo in one of the biggest comic book franchises, DC Comics. Yuji Itadori surprised his fans as he sneaked into the DC world and got a feature in a crowd shot in the previews.

As soon as fans found out about the feature, they instantly went on social media to talk about Yuji’s achievement and how Jujutsu Kaisen is making the rounds around the world. Not only fans, but even the voice actor of Gojo Satoru, Kaiji Tang, also took part in this banter and added a nice twist to the discourse.
Instead of appreciating Yuji’s success, Tang compared the two worlds and pointed out that the antagonist of the series, Sukuna, who is currently wreaking havoc in Jujutsu Kaisen, won’t...

The gasps in Fontaines D.C.’s new song, “Starburster,” tell its whole story: Frontman Grian Chatten suffered a panic attack in a London tube station and decided to chronicle that feeling on a funky, disco-rock track. After refrains of “It may feel bad,” he unleashes an onslaught of stream-of-consciousness worries, including “I wanna bite the phone, I wanna bleed the tone/I wanna see you alone, alone, alone.” The drums keep things going on the song, which will appear on their upcoming fourth album, Romance (out Aug. 23), until he comes to the realization,...

It seems like it has been a hot minute since we have had a good hip-hop feud. As the beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake takes the mainstream by storm, it is difficult to not remember feuds of days gone by, ones that defined the entire generation of hip hop that they occurred in.
Drake in One Dance
While the feud between Drake and Kendrick Lamar picks up steam, we take a look back at three iconic feuds in hip hop through its history, the sort that is still remembered for their stinging bars and witty writing, or even the story of what started them, and how the artists used their talents to flyte their opponents into obscurity (or tried to).

With spring break simmering to 8% K-12 on break, and 1% colleges off, it’s a hodgepodge at the weekend box office until 20th Century Studios’ Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes arrives to an expected $50 million-plus opening during the second weekend of May.
A24’s Civil War, which currently counts $27M through Monday after $1.9M yesterday, will need to defend its No. 1 flag from Universal’s Radio Silence-directed genre title Abigail. Both are looking at around $12M apiece. Still, that would rep a 53% decline for Alex Garland’s dystopian, divided America thriller, which would be excellent. Civil War will share Imax auditoriums with Sony/Crunchyroll’s anime Spy x Family Code: White as well as the Nathaniel Kahn-directed documentary Deep Sky.
‘Abigail’
Booked at 3,300 theaters, Abigail stars Melissa Barrera and the late Angus Cloud as well as Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, William Catlett, Kevin Durand as a bunch of kidnappers who opt to abduct 12-year old ballerina Abigail (Alisha Weir). She’s the daughter of a powerful underworld figure, and her ransom is for $50M.
In an isolated mansion, the captors, whose job it is to watch her, start to dwindle, one by one, and they discover, to their mounting horror, that they’re locked inside with no normal little girl. The pic will share Plf screens with Lionsgate’s Guy Ritchie-directed The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, which is looking at mid single-digits, as well as Spy x Family Code: White, which is looking to do about the same.
Abigail, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, starts previews on Thursday at 5 p.m. Men and women 18-34 are the sweet spot. Reviews for the R-rated pic are currently at 82% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
A $6M-ish opening for the Ritchie movie is in the same realm as The Covenant. The R-rated Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare received an A- CinemaScore during last weekend’s sneaks and will preview at 6 p.m. Thursday before going wide in 2,700 theaters.
‘The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’
The Ritchie-written title is based upon recently declassified files of the British war department and inspired by true events. Pic tells the story of the first-ever special forces organization formed during WWII by Prime Minister Winston Churchill and a small group of military officials including author Ian Fleming. The top-secret combat unit, composed of a motley crew of rogues and mavericks, goes on a daring mission against the Nazis using entirely unconventional and utterly “ungentlemanly” fighting techniques. Ultimately their audacious approach changed the course of the war and laid the foundation for the British Sas and modern black ops warfare. Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Alex Pettyfer, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Henry Golding and Cary Elwes star. Some exhibitors believe the movie has a shot at blowing past its estimates. Rt reviews are at 81% fresh.
‘Spy x Family Code: White’
Spy x Family Code: White is booked at 2,000 engagements with 4 p.m. Thursday previews going in 1,870 sites. Pic will be available in both Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English. The Takashi Katagiri-directed movie is the first film installment of the TV series, here with a stand-alone story featuring secret agent <Twilight>, his deadly assassin wife Yor, and their telepathic adopted daughter Anya in an all-new mission. Pic is based on the Harvey- and Eisner Award-nominated manga written and illustrated by Tatsuya Endo. The TV series debuted on April 9, 2022, with the first two seasons available to watch on Crunchyroll.

Last night’s Jon Stewart-led Daily Show delivered mixed results in the Nielsen ratings department. The April 15 episode delivered week-to-week gains in total viewers, but lost viewers in the key 18-49 demo.
Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, The Daily Show averaged 742,000 total viewers this past Monday at 11 p.m. Et. That represents an +11% improvement from the previous Monday episode, and Stewart’s largest Monday audience in three weeks. However, last night’s episode averaged just 111,000 P18-49 viewers, which is -13% from the previous Monday, and Stewart’s smallest P18-49 audience since returning to the program this past February.
The total viewer and P18-49 averages for April 15 are far from final. Stewart’s Monday, April 8 episode averaged 671,000 total live-plus-same-day linear viewers, and improved to 1,430,000 total linear viewers on Comedy Central after Nielsen live-plus-three-day data arrived. That’s more than a +100% improvement in total viewers.

Helldivers 2 meets Warhammer 40,000 in this fan-made set of miniature figurines of the Kaskrin Kill Team. The set of miniatures is perfectly camouflaged and painted over as divers from Helldivers 2. The set looks nearly accurate as well, with the weapons swapped to those used in Helldivers 2 among other changes made to the characters.
The figurines are coated in black and yellow with the Helldivers logos in various sizes and shapes. Warhammer 40,000 features miniature warriors and vehicles engaging in a battle in a turn-based model as players take turns to move their warriors. Helldivers 2, on the other hand, is a co-op third-person shooter game. Despite the differences between the two titles, this cross-over looks perfect.

Fortnite is indubitably one of the most famous battle royale games in the gaming industry. It has been around since 2017, and while the genre’s popularity has died down, the title still manages to retain upwards of two million players daily.
Call of Duty is another title whose latest iteration almost always involves hundreds of thousands of players daily. It also provides a free-to-play battle royale mode, Warzone. A fun game mode that used to be in previous CoD titles is the Prop Hunt. The mode, however, is absent from Activision’s latest titles, but it seems like Lego Fortnite will utilize its popularity by incorporating it.

Beetlejuice / Betelgeuse, the mischievous demon played by Michael Keaton, is returning to the screens to scare a new generation of kids. The film Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, scheduled to release later this year, also features Tim Burton’s Wednesday fame Jenna Ortega. Interestingly, the much-experienced Keaton was in awe of the talent displayed by Ortega on the set of the fantasy horror comedy film.

There are a bunch of different areas in Elden Ring, and all of these areas have a character. Limgrave are the planes of the Lands Between, all green and beautiful. There are beaches populated with large octopi. There is a whole area covered with poisoned liquid, and there is a place where scarlet rot rules supreme.
Scarlet is one of the scariest things for any gamer in Elden Ring. It catches onto players like poison, but it’s actually rotting them from the inside. It’s so dangerous that it took away the whole body of the Malenia Blade of Miquella, and it took pretty much everything from General Radahn. Now, a theory suggests that this problem could have been worse if not for this boss.

Alone in the Dark is an extremely important franchise within the sub-genre of survival horror. The first game in the series is considered by many to be the first true survival horror video game ever released. Thus, without this franchise, other iconic survival horror titles like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Alan Wake may never have come to pass.
This is one reason that this reimagining of the original Alone in the Dark was my most anticipated 2024 release, the other reason is because survival horror remakes have been knocking it out of the park lately. Last year alone saw Capcom expertly remaster the iconic Resident Evil 4, after the year opened with EA releasing a masterful remake of the original Dead Space.
All of this combined with the star power of David Harbour and Jodie Comer in the lead roles meant that Pieces Interactive’s 2024 reimagining of Alone in the Dark...

With the industry names signing on to a letter growing to reportedly near 1,000 (and counting) condemning The Zone of Interest director Jonathan Glazer’s very controversial Oscar acceptance speech, it looks to be taking on a life of its own since the March 10 Academy Awards, where his universally praised movie won the Best International Film Oscar and was nominated for four others including Best Picture.
The speech — in which he seemed, to many at least, to compare Israel’s war on Gaza and the deaths of thousands of Palestinians with the Nazis’ extermination of Jews during World War II — certainly made some in the audience uncomfortable, even uncertain just how to interpret it at the time. It has ignited a firestorm of protest by many, including big names and Academy members like Amy Pascal, Sherry Lansing, Eli Roth, Jennifer Jason Leigh and more. Every 90s kids remember Mukesh Khanna as Shaktimaan, the Indian superhero who would take a spin and save the day. Often, Mukesh Khanna expressed his views openly when it comes to Shaktimaan. He loves the superhero dearly and has talked about making a lot of effort to make the series happen. However, the actor also didn’t shy away from expressing his views against Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra One movie character G One. He also once said that Srk’s film and Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish could never match up to Shaktimaan.

The In Memoriam section of the Academy Awards is always one of the most emotional moments of the show. This year was no exception, as the 96th Oscars celebrate the performers, filmmakers and artisan talents who died in the past year. The In Memoriam segment kicked off with a remembrance of Alexei Navalny, the political prisoner who died Feb. 16 and was profiled in last year’s documentary feature winner “Navalny.”
The names unfurled onscreen was Andrea Boccelli and his son, Matteo, sang “Time to Say Goodbye.”
Every year, the Academy leaves a few beloved names out of the montage, causing anger among some viewers. Though a much longer list is presented on the Oscars.org website, outrage over who makes it onscreen is part of the Oscar-watching tradition.

The Japanese film industry had a big night overall at the 17th edition of the awards ceremony, which was hosted this year in Hong Kong’s gleaming new Xiqu Centre, part of the city’s $2.7 billion West Kowloon Cultural District development. Japanese festival favorite Hirokazu Kore-eda won best director for his mystery drama Monster, while the great Koji Yakusho took best actor for Wim Wender’s moving minimalist drama Perfect Days. Hamaguchi’s chief collaborator on Evil Does Not Exist, Eiko Ishibashi, won best music and the Kaiju critical and commercial sensation Godzilla Minus One claimed both best visual effects and best sound.

Dune: Part Two is currently ruling the cinemas and is expected to win big at the next award season. Everyone from Timothée Chalamet to Josh Brolin to Rebecca Fergusson did extremely well in their roles and the audience just can’t seem to get over them. Undoubtedly, Dune: Part Two has not only lived up to its predecessor’s hype but has even surpassed it. However, the one thing we missed in the sequel was Oscar Isaac’s Duke Leto Atreides.
Oscar Isaac in Dune (2021)
Oscar Isaac played the role of the father of Timothée Chalamet’s Paul Atreides in Dune. Unfortunately, the film saw him meeting his demise and thus, the actor was not a part of Dune: Part Two. Having Oscar Isaac on the set of the first film must have been a hoot, though, as the actor knows how to have fun. Remember when he brutally roasted Josh Brolin during an interview?...

With all of these changes in the movie’s release dates, the epic science fiction film is no longer eligible for Oscars 2024. Fans will, however, see the movie compete in next year’s awards season. Now, is this a misfortune or a blessing in disguise?
