The episode in Peru was quite cringe worthy. A man and woman were trying to show him an old method of producing an ancient brew. He obnoxiously said the process of ladeling out liquid through a strainer was too slow and proceeded to lift the entire vessel and quickly pour it through the strainer to the repeated protests of the woman. Very little respect for the people with whom he interacts..also rude and impatient.

Just. Awful.

Nothing about this show is of value. The host seemingly takes pride in being an "obnoxious American" in foreign cultures and acting as if decorum has no value. He consistently asks stupid questions (and embarrassing questions) to professionals who are doing him a service by speaking with him.

The content is incredibly basic - perhaps most appropriate for a 1st or 2nd grade classroom - and seem to have been written by a high school drop-out. Others have pointed out numerous examples of disinformation throughout the show...I just couldn't watch much past the first few episodes.

Just. Awful.

good for late night laughs

Warning: Spoilers
Self-proclaimed archaeologist, Brit Eaton, travels to common ancient sites and offers his expert opinions and observations in contrast to actual archaeologists and experts who he repeatedly talks over. While the film footage of the sites is itself well done, Eaton's narration is uninspired and reminiscent of a high-school jock's history paper.

The highlight of each episode is the segment where Eaton tries his hand at ancient techniques and trades, and almost always derps it up. He is often depicted wearing his battered Indiana Jones replica hat, designer jeans, and a button up shirt that is too short and tends to ride up and expose his belly. Every episode contains shots of a reflective Eaton, thoughtfully staring into to distance and striking a stoic pose.

All in all, the show is ripe for hours of satirical commentary with your friends and family, and Brit Eaton is endearingly prone to awkward and embarrassing situations. Worth a few laughs if anything else.
