ANDY WARHOL OF FASHION!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Patricia Field, truly is the Andy Warhol of fashion. The 80/90's was such a special time and it's so precious to find out that Patricia's friends and employees were treated like family by her and that Patricia was regarded as 'father'. Especially during a time when members of the lgbtq+ community were shunned and had to fight hard to be accepted and have their unique creativity embraced.

Patricia believed in people before anyone else believed in them by promoting their art or fashions in her store.

She supported many unknown visual artists at the time, like Basquiat and Keith Haring. She also promoted fashion designers like David Dalyrymple and Betsey Johnson.

Prior to styling the 'Sex and the City' tv show, Patricia Field styled many films and celebrities. She created styles and trends that were so highly sought after, that other designers tried to copy her.

Patricia's staff especially, were key to styling celebrities, though celebrity stylists took the credit when coming up with fashion ideas for their clientele.

Patricia gave anyone who wanted to work, a job. She instilled her hard work ethic into her employees and shared her business savvy to help them grow. She was not afraid to delegate responsibilities and give her employees power or encourage them to pursue other endeavors. Though Patricia was a firm disciplinarian, she was not afraid to show her love in other ways.

Patricia's fashions were flaunted heavily, especially during the outrageous 80's/90's club scene where creativity knew no bounds. *sigh* a club scene that has remained unparalleled up to today.

Millenials have no idea what it was like and unfortunately, smartphone video was not invented back then. The costumes, the drag queens, oh my! Patricia supported the lgbtq+ community and they happily supported her back.

Patricia Field is a fashion trailblazer and much more than just a patron or supporter in the art and lgbtq+ communities. She was 'father'.

'The Little House That Could' is truly a diamond that sparkles light onto a long lost and iconic era. These vignettes should be preserved in a fashion museum because these special moments in history will never be recreated or recaptured.
