A revolution is working through Latin American filmmaking. It’s powered by new gen cineastes, educated at top film schools, very often women, who are questioning pretty much everything everywhere all at once, re-representing themselves and questioning what can make up a movie these days.

Sharon Stone is set to return to her criminal Casino ways with Sunny, a dark comedic thriller in which the Oscar nominee will play the eponymous lead, a drug kingpin, mob mistress and devoted single mother.
Norwegian filmmaker Eva Sorhaug (90 Minutes) is attached to direct Sunny as her English-language debut. The plot, which sees Stone's character going through an adrenaline-fueled 24 hours as she tries to clean up and get out of town before the local mob boss discovers her dysfunctional family’s devastating secret, is based on Sorhaug's original idea. William Day Frank penned the script.
