This may be the best episode of the series
SilentOne925 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
The Basic Lupine Urology episode is a parody of the law and order. The case revolves around the "murder" of a yam which the study group was hoping to get an A for. extremely funny episode. Troy and Abed are great as the detectives. Shirley plays the captain. Annie and Jeff play the attorneys A great addition was having Leslie Hendrix playing the forensics technician who tells them how the yam was killed. the witnesses were funny. the show even had a twist at the end. after the case was solved. there is another "shocker". IF you are a fan of this series, this is the episode to watch. if you are a fan of the law and order series, this is a funny show which pays homage. hats off to the writers for this episode

AMAZING Law & Order Parody
wrenleung16 July 2020
Everything about this episode was spot on. As a big L&O fan, I was belly laughing from beginning to end. And I almost fell off my chair when Leslie Hendrix made her cameo as the botanist medical examiner. Also funny that Chang had no speaking part in this episode, but he's there lol

I've never seen Law and Order

Warning: Spoilers
Ex-con biology Professor Kane Ph.D said, "Holy crap! We are definitely dissecting pinecones next year!"

That line, at the end of this crime-drama style Community, delivered with perfection by the scariest dude from The Wire, was my biggest laugh in the series thus far. As soon as he said it, I hysterically cry laughed for several minutes. It was wonderful.

This episode is full of great lines. I'm watching this near the end of 2020, while recovering from covid, and am feeling extra grateful for some laughter.

I'm in the middle of watching this episode and it's already my favorite!!!

I used to watch a lot of "Law and Order", and won't change the channel if I see it airing on TV, so this episode brought me back. All the cliches that happen during each "L&O" episode was so spot-on, I actually felt like I was watching it again, down to the Chinese food in the middle of the night while solving the "order" portion of the case. Yet it still kept the classic "Community" humor. I don't often give 10 stars, but this one was well-deserved!

Epic - Best Episode Hands Down
rachellhogan18 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
If you love Law & Order and you love Community you may, like me, practically faint at every dun dun! The pacing, the cameo (wow), Shirley as Van Buren, the jokes, the Miranda rights, the trenchcoats perfection!

As far as homages go this is pretty perfect and will be the litmus test for all friendships in the future, don't like this episode, we can't be friends.

This episode was easily the best I've ever seen. The pacing, the lines, the acting was all absolutely perfect.

Law & Order (Comm unity)
andrewhanes31 March 2020
Immediately when I heard and saw the main title "Community" was stylized as a L&O and it just kept going. I even thought the dramatic parts (with the ending and one minor character) but it just kept going, and going...and going, until the end of the episode.

Plus they give a credited thank you for Dick Wolf

Disappointed
asweetpea9217 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I normally love every episode of this show but I was disappointed with one of the "jokes". I understand that comedy can lean heavily into dark humor which I normally don't mind and even find funny; but making a comical reference to a Nazi doctor in a off handed joke was in extremely poor taste. The things that he did are nothing short of evil. A humorous statement about him was wrong and out of place in the show. Yes the joke was not "that bad" but any reference towards him shouldn't be something stated in hopes of getting a laugh. In my opinion it trivializes the evil he did, & enjoyed doing, to countless children and adults.
