Garbage
JordanRingdahl22 February 2012
I wish I could give this show a zero. It is really not worth watching. I enjoyed "Fred" as a YouTube bit, some of them were funny and others not so much - but who cared it was a YouTube series. Until now

It was just tonight that I was babysitting and found out that it is a television show. I was curious so I thought I would actually sit with my cousins and watch it. After I sat there wondering WHY!?! It is awful, really terrible. The acting is poor and the writing cheesy. I remember the good old 90's when television programs appealed to both children and adults. I'm disappointed with nickelodeon and their new assembly line of hot garbage they call a lineup. Fred just go back to YouTube, nickelodeon is ruining the funny web series you had started a couple years back.

OMG this show sucks!!!!!
rscampb4 April 2012
A freak with a falsetto voice running around acting stupid, come on. After watching three episodes I still cannot say exactly what the show is about and I found that I was looking forward to the commercials and the sweet release of the end credits. I don't know what they were taking at Nickelodeon when they decided to put this show on TV but I want some. Instead of airing episodes of Fred they should just send out whatever it is they are taking so we all feel good. I understand that Fred was a YouTube Star. Perhaps Fred should return to the internet and Nickelodeon should find some shows that appeal to the entire family. Nickelodeon said they were looking into why Disney beat them in the ratings; the answer is "FRED".

Oh God this is awful
snakes399225 February 2012
I actually liked Fred, when I first watched his web show, his web show was pretty funny, and when I first saw his Celebrity Music Video, then hit me, what if Fred was a celebrity. Well he did became one with his first movie, Fred: The Movie, and that movie was torture, it had awful editing, terrible acting all the way through, no plot, and an awful script, then after that the sequel came, and it was better, it had poor acting, a good plot, and an okay script, and then when I heard about this, this is going to be the worst year ever. The show is awful, it has no story, no plots, no funny jokes, poor acting, and just an annoying torturous person name Fred. Just stay from this show, it's torture, and idiotic.

Absolute Drivel
taza-538-76141924 November 2012
I felt compelled to sign up and write something when this awful show came on while I was watching Nikolodeon. How on Earth this drivel made it to Nikolodeon truly passes my understanding. I cannot believe they don't have better programming to run than this awful program. The Main character has no talent and speaks in a voice like a chipmunk on steroids. There is nothing remotely good or redeeming about this apart from when the ending credits come up, at which stage you will be relieved that this entire fiasco is finally over. Don't waste your time or life watching any part of this as it is truly horrible. I wish I could rate it 0 or -1.

Pointless, meaningless set of handcrafted videos, apparently used by Nickelodeon to fill airspace between other shows when out of advertisements.
icextend20 January 2013
I mean, we all know Nickelodeon is full of shows that are incredibly dull, like "victorious", "Big time rush" etc. But "Fred", which recently arrived to the channel, simply outshines everything else with its astonishing feeblemindedness. I fail to understand who's idea it was to make such a tremendously stupid Internet freakout into a no-less moronic TV show.

Either Nickelodeon is currently strapped on cash and out of ideas, or their employees are just constantly high, they actually agreed to show "Fred" on their channel. And nobody cares to pull him off the air, bscly allowing him to grow like mold.

And so "Fred:The Show" appeared. A completely redundant parody of a parody of a show, that in addition is supposed to be funny. Guess what? Its not. Neither is it fun, nor interesting or original, as it completely lacks any possible storyline or continuity, and all the so supposed "jokes" are centered around madness, randomness and toilet humor, utilizing the principle "what random load of cr.p should we throw in there to lure at least some reaction out of our audience".

Whole idea of the show is that: the main protagonist(the so called "Fred") and a bunch of other freaks together do moronic things in front of a camera while "Fred" is screaming in an inhumanely high-pitched gay voice, creating a literally enormous aura of idiotism and schizophrenic pneumonia, with zombifying stupidness spraying out of the screen, smelling, dirtying your children's clothes, hitting their faces, brains and consciousnesses, leaving you and them with only one question "Whyyyyy?".

The sole reason for this "show" to even exist is to dumbify you, as it brings absolutely nothing new, entertaining or educational, and leaves nothing to think of. It is absolutely not original, as every single idiot with a camera is able to do exactly the same thing. Go see some internet videos - they are all there. Stop motion? Voice changer? Cmon! Is this all supposed to be funny?

tl;dr This is not a show. This is Media-terrorism. Beware.

Stupid show
X_Kanbei_X9 September 2013
If I could rate this show 0 stars I would.

It is basically a show about a (obviously) insane high school student. Fr3d is annoying enough on a certain video sharing site but it's even worse on the TV! The show is basically him screaming into a video camera! Very boring and unentertaining.

Half of the characters on the show appear to be brain-dead or just plain crazy. Half the stuff on it is inappropriate for younger viewers or just too stupid for older viewers.

You'd have to be brain-dead yourself to enjoy this garbage. Avoid like the plague if you value your brain cells.

Most likely the worst show Nickelodeon has ever aired
TheLittleSongbird23 April 2014
Yes, even worse than Chalkzone, iCarly, Rocket Power, Butt Ugly Martians and Zoey 101. A shame really because Nickelodeon has a lot of great shows such as Rocko's Modern Life, The Angry Beavers, Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats and Avatar the Last Airbender as well as the numerous fun game shows. Fred: The Show is simply dreadful, even worse than the movies and 2008's Fred. The biggest problem for me is Fred himself, Nickelodeon has never had a more annoying character(also one of the most annoying characters ever), not just the exaggerated facial expressions, the stupid things Fred does and how he treats people around him- especially his mother- but especially Lucas Cruishank's voice which is not just nails-on-a-blackboard irritating but also quite creepy sounding. The acting as a whole actually is terrible, the only half-way decent actress being Siobhan Fallon, and the characters are shallow and bland. The writing is not funny at all, in fact it reeks of cheese and the painful dialogue delivery just distracts. A lot of it is repetitive too. The stories are often cliché-ridden(not always a problem but it depends on the quality of everything else), very predictable and there are too many to count scenes also of complete irrelevance and mind-numbing stupidity. Fred: The Show even looks amateurish, even for a teen/family-oriented situation comedy. So all in all, a dreadful show and if there was a vote for the worst show that Nickelodeon has ever aired Fred: The Show is a very, very easy personal pick. 0/10 Bethany Cox

Ow!! My ears!!!
caidenw-3705010 December 2016
My gosh! This show will make you want to rip your ears off! It was a bad idea from that beginning! I don't know what made Nickelodeon think this was a good idea, but whatever caused them to decide this would be a good show must have come from the depths of Hell!

This show's idea of humor is just...Gah! It's not funny! This show has virtually no intelligence at all! It's still not as bad as Tim & Eric's Awesome Show!, but you'd have to genuinely TRY to make a show worse than that! Your ears will be bleeding from minute 1! Don't let your kids watch this show! Don't watch it yourself! If you want your kids to have good cultural taste, start early by just skipping this show!

Who the hell conceived this? And why?
tomdaly-1743617 April 2018
Oh. My. God. Just when I thought kids' TV could not sink any lower, somebody at Nickelodeon had the idea to air this utter drivel. An open letter to Nickelodeon should start with this, "Who decided to conceive this televisual monstrosity? And WHY?" I get that you shouldn't hide who you truly are, but Fred...OMG he acts like a deranged five-year-old and his voice is like a cross between a screaming banshee and Michael Jackson if someone kicked him in the crotch. All I can say is, "Thank god, this was cancelled and Lucas Cruikshank left Nickelodeon after this and Marvin Marvin, another televisual train wreck".

Greatest Nickelodeon sitcom.
fredtheshowfan28 January 2023
"Fred: The Show" has a poor reputation exclusively with people who have never watched it and thus don't understand that it secretly has all the qualities of a cult classic.

Fred: The Show is an American comedy television series, created by Lucas Cruikshank that originally aired on Nickelodeon in the United States from January 16 to August 3, 2012. Lucas Cruikshank, Daniella Monet, Jake Weary, Siobhan Fallon Hogan, and Stephanie Courtney reprise their roles from Fred: The Movie and Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred. A series preview aired on January 16, 2012, and the show officially premiered on February 5, 2012. Fred: The Show came to production after the success of Fred 2: Night of the Living Fred. The show was cancelled after one season due to low ratings and poor reviews from critics. It is considered one of the worst television shows ever made, although it has developed a cult following,

I never thought I'd say this, but I actually like this show.
Adam-the-tall-123 June 2021
This show is better than it has any right to be. Believe me, I was expecting to hate this. Fred 3: Camp Fred is probably the worst movie I've ever seen and I got no joy from it whatsoever. This show is very creative and it surprisingly works really well. I'd say that if you have nothing, and I mean NOTHING else to do, check this out. It's kinda fun.

Also, I want to remind you that the guy who directed the first Fred movie is named Clay Weiner. I think that that is just the funniest thing.

This is as worse as Nickelodeon gets. :,(
itaitanchuma22 November 2017
We've ALL seen bad from Nickelodeon, with shows like "Fanboy and Chum Chum", "Awesomeness TV" and "Breadwinners", but FRED tops them all, as the reigning king of all bad Nick shows, as well as the reigning king of all bad sitcoms. Even Lucas Cruikshank, Fred's voice actor, admits that he hates voicing the character. It is CONFOUNDING how Nick has imported the absolute most ANNOYING GARBAGE from YouTube (Except Annoying Orange, as CN got THEIR grubby hands on it first), and were somehow SURPRISED when it BOMBED! Anyway, the show focuses on Fred as he squeals around both at school, and at home, and aggravates the ENTIRE world with his obnoxious voice. I remember watching that one episode about Fred taking a driving test with a guy who turns out to be a bank robber, and I INSTANTLY knew that this show was awful. Fortunately, Cruikshank no longer has ANYTHING related to Fred on his channel, and we can ALL sigh in relief that Fred has bombed, as it REMAINS as the WORST show that Nickelodeon has ever created.

Not the worst Nick show ever, but the most annoying
Z217082 May 2017
Fred: The Show. Quite a mess isn't it. While it's not the worst Nickelodeon show (that title belongs to Breadwinners), it's definitely the most annoying. Fred's high pitched voice is just grating. While in the original web series, Fred was kind of funny with his high pitched voice, here it's just grating.

Every episode is essentially an extended Fred video. He talks to the audience, every shot is a jump cut, etc. It was clearly intentional what they were trying to do here.

The characters are all annoying. Not just Fred, but literally every single character in the entire show makes me infuriated. Fred's mother in particular makes me frustrated beyond any measure. And every time Fred shows up on screen, he makes me want to tear out his vocal chords directly from his throat.

This is what happens when companies try to base their show off a YouTube channel. You get an annoying, pandering, vapid, obnoxious, infantile piece of trash like Fred: The Show. And sadly, the same thing happened to the annoying orange.

Worst show ever?
mellowo31 March 2016
This is a great example of why things that you see on the internet, can't be translated into 15 minute TV episodes consisting of 24 episodes. I've been forced to sit through FRED: the show with my little cousin who watches it and likes it for some reason. I didn't know at the time that the show was based on the web series FRED because I never heard of it, so I checked the web series out as I was curious. The web series consists of around 5 min short clips of the character FRED, played by Lucas Cruikshank. I also don't find the web series funny but I found it more bearable than the show as the web episodes are just 5 mins.

I've gone way too much into describing the background of FRED, what's the show like. The show is what it is, a 15 minute version of the 5 minute web episodes. The show suffers from the same problem the web series does, it doesn't even try to be funny and because it's not funny and puts this annoying character in front of you, you will find the show annoying and unfunny. It's the same reason why I hate the Annoying Orange as well (which is another show my little cousin has forced me to watch.) If something sort of works on YouTube (and I literally mean it just sort of works) then it is common sense that it will not work for television and FRED: the show is the testament to that. I can't think of one memorable moment from the whole show. So let's do a bit of math. Each episode is 15 minutes long, there are 24 episodes = 6 hours of my life I will never get back. The things that are going on throughout the show don't make any sense at all. I can't tell whether they're trying to be realistic or fictional as it's somewhere in between. One minute it's following the laws of physics, next thing FRED makes a love potion which doesn't exist. That's a great message to send out to the kids isn't it? "Can't find love kids? Just make a magic love potion, no need to go through that stage in life known as dating and getting to know someone, just get a love potion, FRED seal of approval (and the Mellow seal of disapproval.) It also baffles me as to why they made this show, as they already made 2 movies based on this character and they both failed critically and financially, so why did they think a TV show would work? Just leave this "thing" on the internet where it belongs and leave it on the internet.

His YouTube content was great. And when I say was. I mean was great. His YouTube content was so good. But after this show his YouTube channel went down. So now he no longer post his high squeaky voice videos on YouTube.

A horrific abomination
teresaclohessy-4147715 November 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This show is bad. Just bad. Nickelodeon has seriously gone downhill and it has been like that for the last eight years and I doubt anyone knows when it will improve. It was 2012 when this piece of crap got green-lit and it is one of the worst decisions Nickelodeon ever made.

It is basically only about a teenager called Fred Figglehorn who has a squeaky voice and just runs around the place like a little toddler. The original Fred wasn't so bad but when the films were made it was a sign that it was certainly getting worse. His voice is so annoying it would hurt people's ears so bad. I'm so glad the show got cancelled after one season.

Fred: The Show is horrific. Don't watch. 1/10

Worst Nick Show Ever
samuelshawel-3848518 January 2021
BeepBeep-62-519915 has no taste. He thinks the show is good and better than South Park. Well it is not. This is the worst nick show, and I thought Fanboy & Chum Chum was the worst.

Much like The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, it heavily butchers what made the original YouTuber good. The concept of placing a YouTuber as the star of a television series does not work out in real life when compared to the drawing board. The humor in this show isn't funny at all. Instead, the humor in this show is both boring and annoying at the same time. The show only offers one punchline: Fred's screaming. This makes the show both repetitive and excruciatingly grating. None of the characters from the movies (with the exception of Kevin and Bertha) make an appearance, including Judy. Fred is an unlikable and immature character throughout the whole show. Fred's high-pitched voice is incredibly grating and annoying, not helping the fact that he screams all the time. Terrible and just plain pathetic plots for many of the episodes. Holly wasn't a good love interest for Fred as Judy was. She can also be considered a butt monkey, who is a character that gets abused throughout the entire show for no explained reason. The acting is terrible, especially from Lucas Cruikshank as Fred Figglehorn. The writing is utterly horrific. It uses a lot of cliche teen stereotypes. Overuse of toilet and gross-out humor. Kevin's last name is "Dawg", which is a stupid last name. At least it wasn't "Dog"...

So to anyone who thinks this show is good, has terrible taste. Completely.

Terrible
hc-1880418 August 2017
This isn't the worst TV show I've ever seen, because The Problem Solverz is the worst show I've ever seen. But that doesn't change the fact that this is still TERRIBLE. Fred's voice wears thin very quickly, but that isn't even the biggest problem. The biggest problem is that Fred himself is insanely narcissistic. He's unlikable beyond belief, and that makes this show get grating very quickly. Fred: The Show is a good contender for worst sitcom of all time.

Imagine a teenager acting like a 3 year old by being stupid and squealing for what feels like 5 hours. Welcome to Fred: The Show. It's nothing but some teenager trying way to be hard to be funny, and failing miserably. It's literally impossible to understand what is happening in this show, because you are suffering from a splitting headache watching this trash. At least the other bad Nickelodeon sitcoms made sense! At least there was a concept in them that are easy to understand! This is just an annoying, immature sitcom that makes no sense, and Nick is just trying to cash in on the success of famous YouTubers. Nickelodeon, please don't pull this stunt again.

"Fred: The Show" has a poor reputation exclusively with people who have never watched it and thus don't understand that it secretly has all the qualities of a cult classic.
GayDingo27 December 2023
"Fred: The Show" stands as a testament to the divide between public perception and the hidden gems within the world of television. A quick dismissal from those who haven't given it a chance may leave one oblivious to the potential cult classic status this show carries. It is an underrated gem that manages to carve its niche in the vast landscape of entertainment.

At first glance, "Fred: The Show" may appear frivolous to some, but beneath the surface lies a unique charm that captures the hearts of those who delve into its quirky universe. The titular character, Fred Figglehorn, portrayed by Lucas Cruikshank, brings a distinctive energy to the show with his eccentric personality and comedic timing. The humor, although seemingly simple, possesses an endearing quality that resonates with a dedicated audience.

One of the show's strengths lies in its ability to blend absurdity with relatable themes, creating a surreal yet strangely familiar world for viewers. Fred's misadventures and peculiar encounters are not just a series of random events but rather a reflection of the bizarre nature of adolescence. This combination of the surreal and the relatable is a hallmark of cult classics, and "Fred: The Show" embraces it wholeheartedly.

Furthermore, the show benefits from a supporting cast that complements Fred's eccentricity, adding layers to the narrative and contributing to the overall comedic dynamic. The characters, though initially seemingly one-dimensional, evolve over the course of the series, surprising viewers with unexpected depth.

While "Fred: The Show" may not have received critical acclaim during its initial run, it has found a dedicated fan base that appreciates its unique brand of humor. The show's ability to create a subculture of devoted followers who understand and celebrate its quirks is indicative of the qualities often associated with cult classics. It has managed to transcend its initial reputation, creating a lasting impact that resonates with those who seek entertainment beyond the mainstream.

In conclusion, "Fred: The Show" deserves a second look from those who dismissed it without experiencing its quirky charm. Beyond the initial judgments lies a series that, while not universally acclaimed, has carved its niche in the hearts of viewers who appreciate the unconventional and the absurd. It's a testament to the idea that true value in entertainment can often be found in the most unexpected places, and "Fred: The Show" stands as a testament to this philosophy.

The best!
The modern capacities of this complex narrative are divine. In the span of a couple of months, Tarik felt caught up in a group's energies that he found compelling in a whole new way. He believes that as he got more deeply involved with religious circles, it also helped lead him out of the darkness he had been in since his divorce, to a better place spiritually.

Unfunny, cringe and boring
revisc5 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The FRED films and YouTube videos were bad in their own rights but this was just the worst. The acting, editing and script were down right terrible. Fred isn't charismatic at all and his voice was terrible as well. The main problem is that the Fred was no longer as big as he used to be and therefore the TV show felt like a filler from commercials. It also struggles a lot because the episode are long and entertaining enough. The Fred channel had 2-3m videos making it easier to watch. The whole tv show absolutely pointless.
