Reopening not-so-old wounds, Johnny and Amber back in the game.
maryszymansky26 April 2023
As much as I don't enjoy reopening old wounds, I appreciate the fact that the series shows both sides of the story. Naturally, it was not pleasant to go through this trial again and I'm not sure we need this to exist but it wasn't as bad (or maybe cringe) as the latest Netflix one-sided story of our favorite British Royal Family members - Megan and Harry. If you haven't seen the actual trial it's probably worth watching, however if you did see it (which is more likely) there's no need to waste time on this series. I reckon it deserves my six stars just for the portrayal of both visions and views and for quite accurately presenting this 6 weeks long ordeal in a nutshell.

Just watch the trial
nikkimc-9738313 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Part One was fine, they condensed 6 weeks into 48 minutes. I'm all honesty, just go watch the trial on LegalBytes, Rekeita Law or the Emily D Baker show if you want legal analysis while watching. If you don't, go watch on Law and Crime or CourtTV.

Part Two: Amber Heard's team declined participation so the show uses proxies to help tell her side. One of these proxies is Lisa Bloom. Lisa Bloom represented Harvey Weinstein so just keep that in mind...

All in all, I thought the presentation was ok. But it's damn near impossible to condense a 6 week trial to two 48 minute segments.

Remember this came down to a me too without the me too. The jury got it right.

Sad, biased attempt to defame Johnny.
kauspm28 September 2022
If you are hoping to look at the trial with an unbiased view, this isn't the thing to watch. Sad attempt by someone to blame Johnny for all as you can clearly feel the creator's bias towards Heard. Probably produced by heard herself to earn some pity points. The whole narration is Heard centric, portraying Depp as the evil one. It will only show you the clips of Johnny being aggressive, but nothing that was produced in the court in his favor. None of the testimonies of the witnesses who sided with Johnny have been shown in this. It's not a documentary, it's a classic mockumentary trying to make fun of a man's suffering.

Is this for real
brijendra_pro28 September 2022
It says US trial, but all evidences not entered in trial are being in focus, is bias for Amber core agend here, this will be mean that we are being presented something not true in the eyes of the law hence reflected in the poor rating of this show.

Avoid if you can, if you wish to watch fantasy, do refer to House of Dragon or New Lord of Ring series, and this fantasy series won't satisfy your craving.

Episode 1 on Amber - is so pro amber that UK trial will feel left out in dust, Episode 2 on Johnny mentions no abuse Johny suffered from Amber.

I will still watch this in its entirety, but first two episodes has pretty setup my mind.

Another one sided take pretending to be a "documentary"
boboceaelena11 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A little bit less revolting than the UK trial nevertheless they keep the same lines, no matter if it is Johnny's story or Amber's story everything is in reality Amber's story.

Many relevant facts have been left aside to give more credence to Amber's story like the audio with "tell them Johnny how I abuse you, nobody will believe you" ,like the part of doctored images, why the people didn't believe Amber's testimony.

Of course they kept up with the gaslighting line if Amber's where media wasn't with Amber and somehow deluded people stood with Johnny ( with no evidence backing that stance whatsoever) when in reality corporate media was with Amber all the way, months even after the verdict, while independent journalists and YouTubers presented what happened in the courtroom.

Stop with the nonsense, I watch that trial every day and Amber is not a victim but an abuser.

We've all watched the trial live, who are you kidding?!
pantherka24 February 2023
Was this produced by Amber? The creators of this show should be served a lawsuit as this was a sad attempt to defame Johnny Depp again. We've all seen and heard how and what happened, it was AH all along, stop trying to manipulate people into thinking AH was a victim! This is just sad. I thought this was a documentary, an objective point of view, but this is just AH biased. The creators forgot to mention how she was lying and manipulating the people around her. Depp's story is only half of it, not even that, what is her story doing in the episode, describing his point of view? This is just pathetic.

Unpopular opinion
whatisanonymous22 January 2023
This series establishes a balanced view from both sides of the trial, with first a detailed story of the strategy of employed by the lawyers of Depp, and the abuse Depp has suffered in the relation.

The second part of the series shows the under represented view of the trial. Here the trial is showed from the narrative of amber heard. How she has experienced both the relationship and the trial.

This series makes you think who was the aggressor in the narrative told? Was it Depp, or Heard or the American justice system which allowed for this judge judy like trial on a topic which was definitely none of our business in the first place.

I was very excited for this documentary, as during the trail I was very into it, following everything. I know all the details of the trail as I watched all the testimonies.

This documentary is super biased, up until it even distorts the obvious truth. I couldn't even finish episode 2, and I heard episode 3 is even worse.

Putting dramatic music when Heard is testifying and telling stories, and not showing that right after, Depp's lawyer absolutely demolishes and catches her on multiple lies - just to try to convince someone who is not familiar on the trail, that Heard was actually abused.

Not showing the most important testimonies that were in Depp's favor, proving without reasonable doubt that Amber is lying.

Bottom line this is real garbage. I am not sure who made it and for what reason. If you want to get familiar with the trail just go and watch youtube.

Totally unfair documentary
hfaghihi-9928417 August 2023
This documentary was professionally created to support Sun newspaper and was in no term fair in its stories. The whole johnny Depp episod sounded like Amber heard episod. Just count the time of the appearance of people defending Amber in both episods. Absolutely shameful. We all watched the court online. Stop producing nonesense.

The series should have included the arguments from the aecond court in US as well. Instead it seemed like they are just trying to say that the UK court was just and recover from Amber loosing in court.

They just wrapped it interestingly in a way which seems this is fair because they have two episods. Just ridiculous.

Not even worth the 5 minutes
sufar25 February 2023
I am not even gonna add this crapshow to any of my lists. We all saw/heard/listened about this crap trial. Why do we need a documentary about it? Especially now since it's fresh? Noone cares about this rubbish. I had to use the magic combo of alt+f4 to get me out of this crap tv series.

I am trying really hard to search and find any good points about this but there just isn't any to begin with. Who cares about 2 washed up celebs? For the past 10 years(or so) both of them have been doing crap movies compared to their golden age of movie making. Now they are old, miserable, drugged the fout, can't act anymore, crap movies just to be in the portfolio and nothing more.

If i were you i would just change channel/website/wherever you're seeing this from and get something else to watch.

An interresting look into American unjustice. 8/10.
storkson-3939822 January 2023
I havn't followed the trial closely, but who could have missed it due to It's extreme media/social media frenzy? In my view the celebrity side of it made me want to avoid spending time reading too much about it. But here is a chance to have a more balanced and in-depth version. On although the case is mostly a celebrity scandal and really something that should have been kept private behind closed doors in a court room, it also discloses how fame, money and star power triumphs over truth, objectivity and The Rule of Law. So this both a well-made documentary and court room drama and a interresting lesson in how a trial works. Recommened!
