Erica Mena will not appear on the next season of Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta after she referred to her co-star Spice using a slur during a heated argument.
“The ‘Love & Hip Hop’ franchise has never shied away from hard conversations in our community,” the VH1 series official account wrote Saturday in an Instagram statement. “Working hand-in-hand with our partners, viewers will see the impact of Erica Mena’s remarks play out in the final three episodes of the season.
“Effective immediately, she will not appear in the next season of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.’”
Angry fans blasted Mena on social media for her slur.
The two cast members have long battled on the series. During this particular confrontation, Spice claimed that Mena’s 16-year-old son, King, “hates” his own mother.
That prompted Mena’s slur, after which she flipped a table.

Exclusive: Paramount is moving around a number of its unscripted shows.
VH1 series including Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, Couples Retreat and Caught In The Act: Unfaithful are moving to MTV.
The company said it was looking to find new audiences for these shows, which are all being produced by Lashan Browning’s Antoinette Media, which Paramount recently invested in. The move comes as it is exploring a sale of BET Media Group, which now includes VH1, meaning that it will keep a number of its biggest titles on its other network.
The biggest move involves Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, which is going in to its 11th season. It premiered on VH1 in 2012.
Season 11, which will air this summer, is being rebooted and will follow a more “docu approach to storytelling” as it documents the lives of women who have built their empires in Atlanta.

Wheel of Fortune fans are demanding that Monday’s contestant Kennise Miller be given another shot at the Bonus Round following a confusing puzzle that may or may not have involved the rapper Yung Joc. After bagging almost $30,000 in prize money and a vacation in Maui, Miller was faced with a “person” category in the Bonus Round. Unfortunately, Miller failed to solve the nine-letter puzzle, the answer for which turned out to be “Young Jock.” That’s when Twitter came alive. Many assumed the puzzle was referring to the rapper Yung Joc, the artist behind the 2006 hit “It’s Goin’ Down” and current cast member on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. Except, if that was the case, the show massively bungled the spelling and unintentionally sabotaged Miller. “It’s Yung Joc not Young Jock. She should have another shot,” wrote one Twitter user. “Why in the world would...

Reality TV star and rapper Maurice “Mo” Fayne has been sentenced to 17½ years in prison for multiple charges including bank fraud and conspiracy for the misuse of Paycheck Protection Program (Ppp) loans and wire fraud relating to the multimillion dollar Ponzi scheme, said the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Georgia Wednesday.
Fayne, a star on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” submitted a $3.7 million Ppp loan application to United Community Bank in April 2020. The loans were meant to help businesses struggling during the pandemic. Fayne claimed that his trucking business had “107 employees and an average payroll of $1,490,200” and said that he would use the loan to “retain workers and maintain payroll or make mortgage interest payments, lease payments, and utility payments related to his trucking business,” the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
However, he ended up using the loan for “improper purposes,” including paying overdue child support,...

Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta‘s Maurice Fayne (aka Arkansas Mo) has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison for conspiracy and wire fraud, including the misuse of millions of dollars in Ppp loans during the Covid-19 pandemic, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said Wednesday.
Fayne ran a multistate scheme that defrauded more than 20 people from March 2013 through May 2020, according to federal prosecutors. He had promised he would use the money to support expenses for his business, but instead, used millions to “pay his personal debts and expenses and to fund an extravagant lifestyle for himself,” prosecutors said.
In May 2020, Fayne was charged with fraud, and additional charges were later added. Fayne was convicted on May 11, 2021, after pleading guilty.
Fayne also was ordered to pay more than $4 million in restitution to the victims.
Fayne appeared on season 8 of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta as the love interest of longtime cast member Karlie Redd.

The MTV Movie and TV Awards are back for the first time since 2019 after the 2020 edition was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And the awards are making up for lost time with not one, but two ceremonies: one for scripted movies and TV shows on May 16, and another for reality programming on May 17. Scroll down for the complete list of reality nominees, and check out the scripted nominees here.
“RuPaul’s Drag Race” is the most nominated reality series with four nominations: Best Competition Series, Best Reality Cast, Best Host (RuPaul Charles), and Best Fight (Kandy Muse vs. Tamisha Iman from “Untucked”). The UK version is also nominated for Best International Reality Series. This isn’t the first MTV recognition for “Drag Race.” It previously won Best Reality Competition in 2017 when scripted and unscripted shows were considered together in one ceremony.

Television dominated the roster of nominees for the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards, which returns this May after a year-long hiatus due, at least in part, to the Covid-19 pandemic. But with the kind of crowd-pleasing, popcorn-ready films that the MTV awards show normally celebrates mostly delayed due to the pandemic, TV has taken a front seat this year.
Leading this year’s roster of nominees, announced on Monday: Marvel’s Disney Plus series “WandaVision,” which earned five nods — including best show, best performance in a show (Elizabeth Olsen), best hero (Teyonah Parris), best villain (Kathryn Hahn) and best fight (Wanda vs. Agatha).
Receiving four nods were Netflix’s “Emily In Paris” (which is produced by MTV Studios) and Amazon Prime Video’s “The Boys.” Earning three are Netflix’s “Bridgerton,” Disney Plus’ “The Mandalorian” and the most-recognized film of the year, Amazon Studios’ “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe...
