Sex & Nudity

  • some nudity and revealing outfits
  • Menagerie tends to speak in innuendos. She at one point kisses Superman, which angers Lois Lane.

Violence & Gore

  • Intense violence is spread throughout the movie. Many deaths are shown onscreen, and blood is not shied away from.
  • Atomic Skull uses his powers to drain energy from people, which causes them to turn gray and fall to ashes.
  • Manchester Black uses his abilities to torture a number of people, causing blood to drip from their eyes and mouth. Superman likens this to a lobotomy.
  • The final battle against Superman and The Elite is very brutal, with an angered Superman becoming bloodied all over, complete with a popped vein in his eye. Superman is shown almost homicidal.

Profanity

  • Swears such as "ass", "damn" and "hell" pepper the dialogue. Manchester Black twice uses the word "bitch" in a derogatory manner, and at one point nearly utters "oh, shit". Manchester also uses the word "bastard" at least once. The word "wanker" is used at least 3 times.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Manchester Black is often seen with a match in his mouth.
  • The Hat is always drinking liquor, to the point he also recognizes that sometimes he should be more aware, but doesn't change his demeanor.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • Manchester Black's murder of the Atomic Skull shows the latter's skull shatter in slow-motion.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • At the climax, Superman goes absolutely berserk and mercilessly overpowers the Elite with homicidal glee, laughing maniacally and doing so in horrific ways. When Manchester Black faces Superman, he emerges from the inferno with a demonic appearance, including his costume being tattered, a bloodshot eye, and an unhinged expression on his face. Even when it's revealed to be an act that deceives everyone, this is still extremely frightening and intense.
  • There are many instances of brutal violence, some of it graphic. The Atomic Skull and The Hat are very terrifying villains, with the later using black magic to summon demons. Superman's acting insane during the film's climax is very, very frightening. However, it is revealed to be a trick by the superhero both to defeat the villains with minimal harm to either them or the population and to demonstrate what he could be willing to do if his personal morals were abandoned
