Another Frankenstein-themed flick is coming our way that looks like a nice cheesy sliver of 1980's weirdness, and we have your first look at it right here. That's right, Dreadheads... grab you knives and forks and get ready to tango with Frankenstein's Hungry Dead.
From cult indie director Richard Griffin (The Disco Exorcist, Exhumed, Murder University, Nun of That), look for the flick (also known as Dr. Frankenstein's Wax Museum of the Hungry Dead) on special edition DVD from Wild Eye Releasing in early 2015.
Synopsis
Halloween night 1983: A group of teens break into a wax museum for some fun but instead find a gruesome secret awaiting them deep in the basement. Doctor Frankenstein himself has been piecing together the ultimate monster and creating a small army of the dead with the leftovers. Now, the teenagers must stop Frankenstein and his growing zombie horde or be sewn into the legendary mad doctor's latest masterpiece.

Directed by Griffin from a script he wrote with Seth Chitwood, the film is about, well, a wax museum of the hungry dead run by everyone’s favorite mad scientist in Salem, Ma. Eric Rodrigues and Jordan Pacheco created the makeup FX.

I was so lucky to find this amazing location [Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery] in Salem, Ma. Once again, those magnificent bastards over at All Things Horror are throwing another amazing party, and you — yes, You — are invited.
Just so you know, the party in question is a film festival called Shudderfest, and it will take place this weekend, October 26 and 27, at the Somerville Theatre in Somerville, Massachusetts. If I were you, I'd make arrangements now, because it's going to be the Eastern seaboard's preeminent Halloween event.
For years now, Chris Hallock and Mike Snoonian, the proprietors of All Things Horror, have sought out and screened the best of independent genre cinema during monthly screenings at the Somerville. But I have to say, this time, they've outdone themselves.
The festivities begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, with H. P. Mendoza's I Am a Ghost, a supernatural thriller that recalls the work of Polanski and Kubrick. This will be followed by a screening of American Mary, the...

Scorpio Film Releasing, creators of The Disco Exorcist and Nun of That, have provided us with the official trailer for their latest feature film, Murder University. It delivers suspense, thrills, and a bloody good time in the spirit of a 1980's slasher.
Synopsis:
A series of brutal, cult-like murders are taking place at a New England college. Josh Greene (Jamie Dufault), a shy freshman, is the lone survivor of a series of murders that are reminiscent of a similar string of killings some twenty years prior. Rhode Island-based Scorpio Film Releasing has wrapped production on its 12th feature film, Murder University, and sent over a few new stills from the flick, which is an homage to the slasher films of the 80's slated to premiere in late July of 2012.
Sfr promises that Murder University is the company's most violent and gory film to date. It stars Jamie Dufault, Michael Thurber, and Samantha Acampora.
Director Richard Griffin says, "Murder University is nothing but pure entertainment. Extreme graphic violence, action, sex, nudity, comedy, a musical number... hell, anything and everything we could throw at the audience, we did! The performances are top-notch, and the movie has a scope that most low budget films could only dream of. It's a great testament to my amazingly hardworking crew and my tireless producers Ted Marr and Kristin Kayala."
Acclaimed playwright turned screenwriter Lenny Schwartz adds, "It's been an honor and a...
