light-hearted show, a certain charm and the occasional streak of genius

Warning: Spoilers
I have been following this series from the start and I would say that while the episodes often have weaker elements, the characters are well cast and likable. As mentioned however, it could be said there is often an awkward moment too many in a series with great potential. The turning point however has to have been Episode 5 "The Debate" in which I really felt this potential had begun to be reached. There were many laughs in this episode with some genuinely clever script writing. It is arguably quite late in the series to warm up but warm up it does and while its certainly not the funniest show out there it is an enjoyable, light hearted program. I have developed a real interest to see how the series ends and that combined with the flashes of genius (think "the brave-heart card")it makes this a current favourite on BBC.

Simply the greatest thing to have happened to me during the lockdown was discovering this show. A mix of eccentric, great acting, the funniest script I've heard in years and the magical backdrop. It's wonderful on so many levels, writer & creator Neil Forsyth.

Dire

This us one of the most unfunny comedy shows I have ever seen. Brian Cox was trying to help local folk in the Dundee area but the whole thing is a shambolic and pathetic attempt at humour.
