Beautiful and Intense
Schfilmy7 February 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A nicely crafted short about a young musician who is visited by a young man with a taste for classical music. It seems that this young man is the violinist's weed/joint dealer but it is apparent that this is not the only facet of his personality. In the midst of an impromptu violin lesson, the two boys share a moment of fleeting passion which is unfortunately cut short. But I guess the wayward boy will return for another lesson. I have seen quit a few gay-themed shorts and I personally feel that gay themed short films have more potential then many feature-length movies of the same genre. And I would have to say that this one of the better ones as it leaves you wanting more instead of feeling bored. In short, a well-done short ( pun not intended).

Lovely Film

I enjoyed this short film from Roman Ilyushenko. A good, tasteful storyline sympathetically crafted for the screen by the director. Although it is in German, the English subtitles very quickly make you forget it. I particularly enjoyed the original music , with a subject such as a violin it would have been easy to use some populist pieces. Julian Lembke's score matched the mood of the film very well. Johannes Huth and Hannes Sell acted well and brought a natural and believable professionalism to their roles, this is so often missing in short films of this genre. Without the need for showing physical intercourse, Ilyushenko is restricted in his realisation of this encounter, yet manages in twelve minutes to give us what most directors can only hope to achieve in three times that time. His story is both simple and engaging, moving and uplifting despite its lack of complication, showing us the transcendent power of music. A 'well-worth watching' short film, both engaging and uplifting which deserves to do well.

real beautiful

a moving film. simple, wise, delicate. about the music. and its force to give a clear connotation to an ordinary meet between two young men. the splendid way to suggest the magic of a moment is the axis of a story about a not extraordinary event. but the dialogue, the acting , the clash between two different manners to assume the life with a common detail, the touch who change everything and who seems represent the result of impulse, all becomes tool for exploration of a form of beauty who only the music could create. one of short films who must see. for the refined director to give a simple, delicate story about a violin and a meet.

Heart Wrenching, Yet Addicting

I have watched this film at least 13 times today, and I have to say something. It is so short, and it just leaves you with a cliffhanger. So you sit there; for 4 or so minutes, contemplating an ending. Thinking of all the routes the story could go. Do they keep seeing each other? Or do they grow afraid of love because no one could make up with a lifetime what they had in a few minutes. It's truly artistic, and doesn't fall into the cliché gay films (I've watched them all- I would know.) This should be made into a full length film- my tear ducts cannot make anymore tears over the unlimited endings possible. The actors in this film are truly amazing. They make you feel something. This is the best short film on the internet. VERY WELL DONE! Thank you so much for producing this and PLEASE MAKE A FULL VERSION! <3

The instrument that feels its giving us the message...

Warning: Spoilers
When I watched this movie on Youtube, I felt that I was concentrating more on the violin because it was an action of seduction and of course it was included in the title. I loved the scene where the boy wanted to show his friend how he plays the violin and by god, he played beautifully. His friend caught his attention and when he kisses the boy's neck, it would literally melt your heart. Suddenly they were separated and that was so heartbreaking. Its like if you fall in love with a guy and your gay, you feel ashamed in which people shouldn't. Love is love at the end of the day and I think people should think of that. I think this movie is a great example to watch on Valentines day or even Christmas!

Another unrealistic gay-themed short film
Horst_In_Translation25 June 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This is a 10-minute short movie written and directed by Roman Ilyushenko three years ago. It only stars 2 actors and early in the film they hardly know each other (one is the other's drug dealer), but when one of them a talented violin player shows the other the basics of the instrument, it becomes a very intimate moment. I thought the actor who played the violin player did a fine job for the most part. But he was written better too. The drug dealer is boastful early one, then actually the one who initiates the contact and finally full of self-loathing apparently. Badly-written, far too many changes of character for such a short time and the actor wasn't very convincing either. The way he emphasized "Alten" ("parents") was pretty embarrassing. The film was nicely directed, occasionally quite artistic, but Ilyushenko clearly needs to improve his writing or just stick to directing and let somebody else work on the scripts. fact is, none of the 3 key players have had a career in film since this was made 3 years ago. I wonder if we ever see one of them again, hopefully in something that has more quality than this short film then.

Expect some fan fiction out of it

The photography is perfect, the screenplay is awesome, the blond actor is extremely talented, the romantic scene is powerful but the whole movie is so short I can cry! I am looking forward to writing what comes next. Thank you for this. It is simple. It is relatable. I could feel it. I still do.
