Stupidly beautiful
victoragus4 November 2018
I do not use to review a single chapter of a TV show, moreover if it's as old as this one (I'm making this review on 2018). But hey, this chapter was stupidly beautiful. I'll try to paint some of these landscapes into oils. Really appreciate the effort of the drawings, it's really necessary to have this piece of artwork into TV

Best episode of seeies 2

Warning: Spoilers
I really like how they changed the animation design to look like ancient drawings and all the spirits look like something from privess mononoke or spirited away. Origin of first avatar was very interesting.

Lets review the first part as well

Seems like everyone is talking about the second part, but lets not forget the first part as well. It was a masterpiece combined, and as a standalone episode I was thinking "they not going to make it in time". The feeling when you know you need to see more but the 22 minutes isn't enough. Luckely us fans didn't need to wait to see the rest of this awesome tale.

This episode did everything to catch and enchant its audience right from the start. They ditched Korra (joke). Instead they gave us a back-story about a young teenager named Wan, trying to change his world. Thrue events of his life he battles and befriends spirits, humans and learns to master the element of fire to survive in the wilds. It is explained how this back-story is important to the current LOK season as well as it shows how different the world was before the era of the Avatar.

Could of been better

Warning: Spoilers
The first avatar should of been twins, basically two people in one body. One woman and one man, This would of been the essence of balance, which is what the purpose of the avatar is. This episode is neat but its very male oriented. No woman live in the village apparently? All the spirits are males? The lion turtle is male. Why..? Thats not equal or balance.. Finally we get to learn about the first avatar and the beginning of bending and this ok episode is what we get. Bleh

Dismantles everything the original series stood for

Warning: Spoilers
The best way to ruin a show with strong Buddhist influence is to introduce God and the Devil. It also contradicts pre-established lore of the first series. Not to mention, this episode is extremely boring.
