One year ago, Tablo wasn’t sure if there would be another Epik High album. By that point, the Korean hip-hop trio – which also includes co-lyricist Mithra Jin and co-producer DJ Tukutz – had already been together for 21 years, and were concentrating on the release of Epik High Is Here下 (Part 2), the second half of their 10th studio album. Rumors circulated about the group’s possible disbandment, fueled by the members’ own ambiguous comments.
And then, a month ago, Tablo released a humorous video announcing Epik High’s 2023 European and North American tour,...

Catherine Deneuve has no regrets. Though the French icon has worked with everyone from Buñuel to Bjork, she doesn’t dwell on the decades she’s spent on screen. And, at 78, she’s certainly not thinking of retirement.
“I’m not at all ready to draw up a career assessment,” says Deneuve during an interview at the sleek, four-star Hotel Gabriel in Paris’ Saint-Germain des Près — her go-to place for the rare interviews she gives. “I’m very focused on the present, a little on the past and even on the near-future.”
But it’s her legacy of indelible performances that’s on the menu during the interview, which is being conducted as Deneuve prepares to be celebrated at the Venice Film Festival with a Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. Sophisticated as ever and sporting a plunging neckline that exposes her black tulle lingerie, Deneuve feels conflicted about the honor.

“The Mitchells vs. the Machines” centers around a dysfunctional family battling a Skynet-style robot uprising during a family road trip.
And what’s a road trip without stellar tunes? Mark Mothersbaugh served as the composer for the Netflix animated feature, working alongside producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. The soundtrack also includes songs by Los Campesinos!, Bangs, Talking Heads, Le Tigre, Sigur Rós, Grimes and Alex Lahey.
One of the film’s songs, “On My Way,” is about new beginnings as Katie (voiced by Abbi Jacobson) seeks to grow up and looks for new adventures.
The pic, vying for a spot in the Oscar animated feature race, pushes the boundaries of animation with watercolor-inspired techniques and impressive visual storytelling.
In the video below, which is a part of the Netflix Playlist series, the composer explains that each family member had their own sounds at the beginning. For the dad, Rick Mitchell...

Bad Boys For Life (Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah)
Much has been made in retrospect how quaint the original ‘95 Bad Boys plays in comparison to its ‘03 follow-up. It rode on the rapport of its leads through only a handful of gunfights and fisticuffs, culminating in an airport climax Bay had to front his own money to finish. The second installment contains not one but two extended car chases with trucks emptying obstacles onto our heroes, and an entire slum being obliterated by a Hummer with little regard for human life–all across a gratuitous two and a half hours. In short, eight years apart, the...

Levi Hummon & Runaway June, “Cowboy Take Me Away”
A Dixie Chicks staple is reborn. When “Cowboy Take Me Away” hit the radio airwaves in November 1999, the song represented a woman’s yearning for a storybook romance. Two decades later, it unfolds like a conversation between two lovers, with Levi Hummon’s first verse adding a male perspective.

Two of France’s major film companies, Curiosa and Playtime, are teaming up to launch Curious Times, a production label dedicated to premium scripted drama. Under this label, the two Paris-based companies will produce French and European TV projects.
The first project to be developed under the Curious Times banner is “War Photographer,” a mini-series based on the life of the legendary photographer Robert Capa, who lived through three wars and was a witness to all key events of the 20th century.
“War Photographer” was created by French director Gilles Bourdos (“Renoir”) and Israeli screenwriter Yaron Seelig (“Matter Of Time”).
Curious Times is currently developing a slate of high-profile projects with well-established filmmakers, in line with the auteur-driven approach of both Curiosa Films and Playtime.
The two companies previously collaborated on several films, including Claire Denis’s critically-acclaimed “Let the Sunshine In” with Juliette Binoche which opened Cannes’s Directors’ Fortnight last year.
