Bravo! What a helluva season finale!

First of all Mike White, I'm a man and I love to watch shows about women. And of course, IT'S NOT just about women. Second of all, and more importantly, BRAVO dude for your insightful, satisfying and very moving season finale. I SURE HOPE THERE'S A SEASON 3.

This show just keeps getting better and better. Timely, brave, pertinent, and yes, utterly entertaining. What you and Laura Dern have done, IMO, is nothing less than a modern day miracle. You make me feel, care, root and applaud your characters and your story. How often can we truly say that? The acting, the story, the tone, right down to each characters demeanor and interactions. Nice! PLEASE HBO, renew this wonderful, satisfying, entertaining adult drama.

Square One Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 of HBO's Enlightened ended with episode 18 "Agent of Change" which aired on March 3, 2013. It ends with Amy right back where she started in episode 1—friendless, jobless, and turning to her ex-husband Levi. She is back to "Square One."

This season finale could very well be a series finale. I hope there is a season 3. This show is one of the best on TV—unique, emotional, beautifully written and produced. The poetic voice-overs, the beautiful music, the quirky characters—everything is so well done.

"Enlightened" is listed as a comedy on the HBO website. I wouldn't call it a comedy; it doesn't make me laugh, although I smile wanly as I recognize myself in the characters. Yet it is not quite a drama either, if you define drama as I do—a show where the plot is preeminent—although there are plenty of plot twists. This show defies categories. Perhaps I can best describe it as an extended character sketch or a treatise of the philosophy of life.

Warning: Spoilers
Amy has finally won when the L.A. times story leak's and her name is brought up because Tyler told Eileen all their truth. The episode's atmosphere seemed to all be against Amy as she went through the moment as she went into that room to be screamed even though she was not bothered as she had won. The episode did feel like a series finale at the end but I could see a third season for the show being about the case Amy will have against her. Seeing Tyler lose Eileen at the start of the episode then getting her back was a nice moment because I have liked how they have dealt with Tyler lately this season. Krista finally had her baby and the scene where Amy goes to the hospital was just another moment for Laura Dern to own. This was another showcase for Laura Dern and finally I have come around to liking this character.

EPISODE GRADE: A- (MVP: Laura Dern)
