Unbelievable

So, a woman beats a man with a baseball bat, kidnaps him, injects him with a lethal dose of drugs, and holds him at gunpoint with law enforcement in the room, but, the head of the MPU is embracing her after she's arrested. Is that some new protocol for handling suspects? Two episodes in and both episodes have been garbage. They have to do better with these new shows. They're simply not believable anymore. I know the shows are only one hour but it's getting ridiculous with how fast they find evidence, get to locations, identify suspects, and make arrest. The main problem with Alert is that they have too many things going on at once. Much like a soap opera, there's 3 or 4 stories going on during each episode. Only 2 are continuos so the others are being resolved before the end of the episode. Unlike a soap opera that has every story and sub story taking 4, 5, 6, 10 episodes to resolve. I'm going to go read a book. Even a book about dragons is more believable and more entertaining than this brain drain.

Oh wow......

I liked the first episode but this episode is just way over the top and the acting is abysmal. The kid (Keith) who is not the kid, is a terrible actor along with the lead detective (Nikki) whose English is just about understandable, and the bald woman who just keeps lighting fires in the office whenever someone goes missing is just laughable. The fire alarm would be going off all the time. I really wanted to like this show because of the Scott Caan attachment, but it's just not worth it. Two episodes in and "We get our Babies back" / "Let's get this baby back" is so irratating plus no police force would ever promise that they would get a missing person back safe and sound. Honestly, this will not get renewed for a second season.

I blame the strike!

This is the biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of rubbish, especially lately. To be honest, if there was anything else besides even more rubbish 'reality' TV available on any other channels, I wouldn't have even finished watching the first episode.

2 cops find their child who was kidnapped and has been missing for 6 years, and who randomly turns up - their so called amazing missing persons unit have never turned up a single clue in all that time., and they all laugh and take him home for pancakes. No therapy, no tests, no other official involvement, just home for pancakes.

Jump to some undetermined time later, and both of their new relationships are falling apart. The sister doesn't believe it's her brother - but we have no context or reason for any of it.

And yet in the background they manage to 'bring the babies' (in the second episode it's a grown man) home, in one day - mainly based on the ramblings of some weird physic.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Only giving it a star because I have to to be able to leave the review.
