- In the wake of the tugboat crash, the next step in Spencer and Alexandra's fate is revealed. Cara and McDowell begin hiring new Livestock Officers. Teonna covers her tracks.
- Teonna burns her clothes in the campfire to destroy evidence of her association with the school. She dons an outfit belonging to Hank's son and adopts the name Joe as a disguise. When Hank's son returns, they will head to meet her father. A couple of men hunting for Teonna show up at her aunt's home searching for her. When the aunt protests, she gets pushed away. She fall and hits her head on the stove causing a fatal injury. Spencer finds his way to the hull of the tug that the ghost freighter capsized. Her desperately calls Alex's name and is rewarded with some pounding from inside. He dives into the water and swims underneath. She is in the air pocket inside the boat. He helps her gather her courage before the two of them swim to the outside. They set up temporary quarters on the hull. Spencer says that he was able to radio their position to another ship before they were hit by the freighter. He allows Alex to use his shirt for shade while they wait. In the dark, the HMS Lambridge finds them. They are taken aboard. It is bound for France. Spencer asks the captain to marry them. He is not willing to wait any longer to be permanently associated with Alex. Besides, it will help make getting her past US immigration officials easier. They celebrate in their small ship cabin. Cara and Sheriff McDowell begin hiring some new Livestock Officers. On the ranch, Jacob is doing more walking and even saddles up his horse. He notes that roads are being cut into the mountains as the mining industry gains momentum. Cara knows that Jacob is bound on vengeance and calls him on it. To throw some interference into his plans, she has told the sheriff about the ambush that lead to the gun battle. He comes to the ranch and tells Jacob that he's better not go out gunning for the sheep men. He and his deputies will make some arrests to help bring justice to the situation. Jack and Elizabeth are fascinated by her developing pregnancy.—Garon Smith
