We’re back in that muddy, rainy, remote country lane in Rettendon, Essex again with director Paul Tanter’s (The Hooligan Wars, Jack Falls) new angle on who was responsible for the deaths of Essex drug dealers Tony Tucker, Pat Tate and Craig Rolfe in December 1995 in The Fall of the Essex Boys.
The grizzly crime mystery has dominated Brit gangster folklore, always posing a fresh challenge for whoever brings another version to the big screen. Tanter has found another theory intriguing enough to rouse interest and provide an appealing watch, but it still falls victim to the clichéd Brit crime flick trap that such a genre film simply can’t escape from.

Simon Phillips is a United Kingdom based actor. Phillips has appeared in over 30 films in a short period of time. This actor has also worked with many well known castmates including Tamer Hassan (Layer Cake), Danny Dyer (Doghouse), Mark Hamill (Star Wars), Vincent Regan (Lockout) and the up and comer Adam Deacon (Kidulthood). He has trained in drama in London. Recently, Phillips produced his first film, GBH, as director. GBH was a crime thriller set during the 2011 London riots. This very busy student of the creative arts will continue his acting career with several more upcoming features. Phillips is already set to appear in a number of features. Phillips is in production on The Hooligan Wars, The Fall of the Essex Boys, U.F.O., White Collar Hooligan 2: England Away and several other films. In this interview, Phillips talks about his first film as director, the challenges of the Jack trilogy and his upcoming features.

Chata Pictures have just sent over the first poster artwork for their new movie Hooligan Wars which comes from Director Paul Tanter who has previously worked on the ‘Jack’ series of movies and has a movie coming up called White Collar Hooligan. The press release which is placed below the poster tells us that the movie will be ‘blisteringly violet’ and in the vein of The Football Factory.
Hooligan Wars stars has a cast which includes Nick Nevern, Simon Phillips, Peter Barrett, Glen Murphy, Mark Harris and Lorraine Stanley. It is written and directed by Paul Tanter (White Collar Hooligan, Jack Falls) and is scheduled for a late 2012 release.
