Sergeant Michael Stonebridge has the safe 'desk job' he promised his wife, actually training recruits for Section 20, but she had a miscarriage and the work frustrates him, notably now veteran mate Craig Hanson's kid brother Jake isn't up to his legacy. Sergeant Damien Scott accepted the apparently boring security for the collecting in Kenya of toppled Libyan president Kadhafi's former confident Armali, who brings a top-secret case, by British consular officials Patrick Burton, about to be retired involuntarily despite his devotion to eastern Africa, and junior attaché Rachel Dalton. By surprise, they are captured by Somalian war lord Waabti, presumably for ransom. Damien got away first, but is caught during his rescue attempt. SAS general Bennet won't sanction a second rescue, and is looking for a pretext to question Section 20's very existence.
