"Mojave: Vistas of the Desert" is a cinematic short nature film that explores the unique vistas of the Mojave desert, from the eccentric town of Joshua Tree, to the desolation of TwentyNine Palms, and the man-made oasis of Palm Desert. The Mojave Desert is one of the most harsh environments for life to survive on the planet, with temperatures reaching over 125 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer with less than 5 inches of rainfall per year. The high desert is home to a number of rare and unique plant species, but none more strange than the iconic Joshua tree. National parks and monuments have been created to protect the Joshua tree, though how long into the future they pepper these vast landscapes remains to be seen, as increased climate change promises to push the Mojave further to the extremes.
