- A film historian writing about a 1960s horror actress is killed in her home. It becomes the start of what appear to be a series of copycat murders based on the actress' films.
- The Midsomer Langley Film Society shows a retrospective of horror films made by local actress Stella Harris but Stella is upstaged when glamorous movie star Diana Davenport, her sister, returns to the area for the first time in forty years with film producer husband Cy. The same night Eve Lomax, a writer working on a book about Stella, is murdered, her neck punctured as if by a vampire. Eve was not popular with Stella or film society president Colin Yule, who claims Eve stole a photo of Stella. Stella's daughter Emma tells Barnaby that Eve's landlord, the married Patrick, was sexually harassing her whilst Patrick claims Eve had a secret lover. Then there are two further slayings, both in the manner of murders from Stella's films. Could they be connected to a family secret from over forty years ago, linking death and the divas?—don @ minifie-1
- In Midsomer Langley, DCI Barnaby and DS Jones investigate the murder of writer Eve Lomax, who is found in a pool of blood in her home. She was found by her landlord Patrick Tillman and was writing a book about local 1960s film star Stella Harris and her more famous sister Diana Davenport, also an actress. In fact, at the time Lomax was found the Midsomer Langley Film Society was holding a festival in Stella's honor when Diana unexpectedly arrived. Dr. Wilding determines that Lomax bled to death as a result of two vampire-like puncture wounds her neck, much like some of the characters in one of Stella Harris' old films. Stella's daughter Emma knew Lomax from school days but there is soon a second and then a third death, both patterned after one of Stella's movies. A attempt on a fourth person leads to solving the murders.—garykmcd
