In the opening sequence (shot in Lone Pine, CA) during a moving time-lapse, a shooting star can be seen streaking across the sky. The filmmaker did not realize he had captured the shooting star until after the first private screening, where a film writer noticed it and commented that a similar thing occurred during the making of "Jaws": During a night sequence on the Orca in which Brody loads his revolver, a shooting star can be seen in the background (which was not noticed by director Stephen Spielberg until later).
