Saw this at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
Gush is about an embodied rumination of both male and female power, healing and haunting, all within an apocalyptic world. A transformation that courses through unknown terror to untamed collective joy. This is the first film I had seen in the New Frontier section and I don't know how to feel about it.
There are a lot of strange visuals, discussions or anything really explored in this film. It's very experimental and it's about the modern perspective of media, visuals, art, and the world surrounding us. With very little narrative and mainly experimental structure, never once did I feel bored but I don't know what to get out from it.
There are tons of great visuals, weird sound choices and strange decisions made throughout this film. I don't know if I hate or like this film at all, but I do think it's definitely something to be seen once.
Rating: B- or B?
