Lucy Worsley begins a revealing three part documentary series, charting the life of The Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie.
This first episode goes right to the beginning of her life, looking at her younger years. Even at such a young age, Christie had a true talent, and definitely took influence from the people around her, and her surroundings. Christie's father seemed like a fascinating man, definitely an influence on her.
I loved the exploration of Styles and Ackroyd, two of her best known novels, both classics, and significant for Christie and her family.
Worsley made for a good host, and what I liked, was that she actually spoke to interesting people, her family members, not just so called experts.
I enjoyed the sequences with Sarah Phelps, a writer that brought us a fabulous version of aand then there were none, and then maybe butchered one or two.
A truly revealing start.
8/10.
