I didn't understand most of what happened in this episode. It's not even that weird, it's just told in a confusing way.

Let's see... I got that Denji and Power were introduced to a devil hunter guy with blonde hair, straggly facial features and a Joker scar on only one side of his mouth. He trains them, apparently, by killing them over and over. At first, it looks like he embraces the two of them, but then he holds them both so hard that they choke.

Other than that... Aki gets taken by some other Public Safety members to a darkened apartment where he encounters something spooky. According to Wikipedia this is because the devil with which he has a contract, Fox Devil, isn't powerful enough to help him.

This was the episode I liked the least so far but it was still pretty good. I just wish it had made more sense. There are only two more episodes to go now. I hope they're not both this confusing.

Training Arc done right

Finally, something that is more realistic for an anime training mini-arc. Loving the show so far. Great writer, outstanding animation, and an amazing Camera Dev. It feels like everyone put their all into this series.

I really hope we get to know which Devils Kishibe has contacts. I'm sure we will see him in action sometime in the future. It does make sense for the up-coming mission that he is taking more of a leadership role. Since devils are being trained and more fiends brought to Special Division 4, he is likely one of the few Devil hunters who can keep some powerful fiends in line. Power doesn't try to leave public safety because she values self preservation, something all devils seem to seek.
