In the final scene before the panel of judges when Marshall jokes about telling Lily he would be late, the notecards in front of him are stacked neatly. The camera cuts to a judge telling him to get out. When it cuts back, the cards are scattered around.
The jury finds Gruber Pharmaceuticals guilty of polluting Frog Lake. In civil cases, juries do not find any party "guilty" or "not guilty." Juries rule in favor of the plaintiffs or the defendants.
After the jury rules in favor of the plaintiff, the judge orders Gruber Pharmaceuticals to pay damages. It was a jury trial and the jury sets the amount, not the judge.
