Excellent characters, interesting story world, great dialogue

thought it was compelling. A different world, not (to my knowledge) yet seen on TV. Thomas Rotterdam is interesting, driven, a bit crazy, but seems to be a genius in his chosen field. The supporting characters (I see this more as an ensemble as time goes by) are really interesting and 3D. I particularly liked the Michael and Freddy, Sean and Freddy dynamics. And really loved the Ahmad Taylor character---his relationship with his sister and the hinted at back story re: his Mom. The Neyda character (the gym manager) was interesting, seemed very strong in how she handled Thomas, and all the other characters walking into the gym on the first day. I'm interested to see what happens with Thomas' case against the med school, and VERY INTRIGUED to see what happens with the guys who finance Thomas' BODIES OF WORK-NYC--they seem like mobsters, so I'm sure as this series gets picked up that will be a very intriguing development.

Solid set up

Warning: Spoilers
This was a strong pilot, great characters, deals with a world we usually don't see on television honestly. I'm fascinated with where the characters are going to go. I feel the main character Thomas Rotterdam is a guy we'll grow to love and hate at the same time. I love complex characters like this, and I really want to see where the story takes him. I think there's enough character weaved into this show with enough story arcs to keep it interesting for the whole season. Right now, you can see the stories being set in motion. I want to know if Sean will be found out and when he is, how will he deal with it. Will Freddy's philandering ways finally catch up with him? Will Ahmad's past ruin his future? Will Thomas ruin Michael and Lora's relationship and will his bitter rivalry undo all that he's built? In other words, I want more. This is the kind of character driven stuff I crave on television. Overall, a terrific pilot, and really want to see what's coming up next.
