Sean Pollock, the director/executive producer/designer of the production had been developing a revival for 5 years including two concert versions in NYC and an aborted production in New Jersey in 2019.
The first time the musical had been fully staged in NYC since 2006 at its last engagement at NYTW.
While the show is generally performed using "tracks", this version was completely re-orchestrated by Richard Lowenburg. Originally, Jordan Wolfe, the original actor who played L. Ron Hubbard in the '03 run of the show was set to re-orchestrate but declined due to other commitments.
