Great stuff, Connor is a mainac, Elena had to take him out, Damon and stefan disagreeing about working with Klaus was a little annoying but a solid episode on par with the first two seasons

Conor overstayed his welcome there.

Warning: Spoilers
I'm not sure why they didn't kill him off on episode 4. This hostage taking story wasn't very gripping, and even though it marks the beginning of Elena's « transition ». It could've been done differently. So many things I hated about season 4. And I still do. All the characters became annoying, Damon's way of hitting on Elena, got creepier. And I still don't get how writers thought, harassing someone was romantic, especially back when Elena was at her most vulnerable. Which brings me to Dobrev's acting, which got cringeworthy, and almost made her look like a bad actress. The writing wasn't focused anymore, and too many storylines were handled at the same time. It was clear the change of show runners had the show suffer, more than it should've. And if it wasn't for great new characters, like Hayley. I would see no point in rewatching those episodes. And go straight to the spin-off series. However how bad as the show got, it was nothing compared to the level of mediocrity current ones reach these days. And it's the last CW series that didn't indulge in politics for the dummies, too. The way « The Killer » ends, is more or less satisfying. Damon acts like he's still so superior, and Stefan let him. After mentioning some future important arc of the season. While Elena starts having visions, triggered by the guilt of her first kill. So we're clearly not done with that Conor guy yet...

Connor Takes Hostages At Mystic Grill
vivianla24 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Connor has Jeremy as hostage as Matt calls him, frustrated by the lack of hand to help open the restaurant. April comes in despite the restaurant not having been opened yet to ask about Rebekah's whereabouts. Connor shows himself with Jeremy, threatening to hurt him if they don't listen to his instructions. Connor texts the Salvatores and Tyler. The guys get together and Elena comes in as well. She wants to go save her brother. Stefan is forced to not tell anyone about the potential map to the cure on Connor's arm due to Klaus. Klaus has travelled to the location of the body that Rebekah long ago buried with the sword. Elena does her first kill when she twists the neck of Connor. Jeremy sees a new tattoo on his hand.
