The beginning of the Life and Times of Tim

I liked a lot the HBO series The Life and Times of Tim; a shame it was so short-lived and went under the radar for most people; I guess many viewers simply dismissed the show due its crudely done animation, disregard of its fun and pretty clever writing.

I personally never had a problem with the rudimentary animation style; if anything, the scribble-esque character designs enhanced the sarcastic tone of the overall series, focused in the misfortuned of a unlucky everydude who constantly gets in trouble.

This short eventually led to the creation of the series, already featuring its characteristic witty deadpan dialogues. It could be easily seen as a pilot episode.

Overall not worth seeing

"Angry Unpaid Hooker" is a 6.5-minute animated short film from 10 years ago written and directed by Steve Dildarian. A man orders a hooker, but when the hooker comes, his wife/girlfriend is back as well, so there is a really awkward situation with the three of them in the room. This is the first half of the film. Then the wife leaves the room and a strange conversation between the hooker and the man ensues, one about her career choices. This was not entertaining anymore and the main reason why I gave this film just a **/*****. The first half is a ***/*****, especially when we hear the audio recording of the men ordering the hooker. So yeah, overall a short film that loses a lot of quality halfway in and that is fairly disappointing for such a short film. I do not recommend the watch.
