The plane is shown as crashing due to a cabin window being shot out. This scenario is impossible, since planes have suffered far worse decompression and landed safely. For example, in 1988 United Flight 811 suffered the loss of a cargo door in flight, which resulted in several passengers being ejected, but the plane itself landed safely. In April 2018, Southwest Airlines Flight 1380 suffered an engine failure that damaged a cabin window. Again a passenger was ejected, but the plane landed safely. Planes that have crashed after explosive decompression suffered structural failure, such as the 2002 China Air 611 that crashed due to metal fatigue from a prior repair.
