Warning: Spoilers
Dexter awakes on the other side of Miami and he calls Debra to bring him home. He tracks Hannah down and learns that she has married the wealthy owner of casinos Miles Castner and is living in his yacht. Masuka discovers where his daughter works and makes arrangements to get a new job for her. Dexter decides to teach Harry's Code to Zach and Dr. Vogel approves his intention.

"Dress Code" is an awful episode of Dexter. The experienced Masuka calling Nikki of daughter because he donated his sperm twenty years ago to the university is silly and ridiculous. Debra is annoying and Dexter "adopting" Zach and disclosing his secrets is another non-sense of this series that is going downhill. My vote is six.

Warning: Spoilers
This episode begins with Dexter, he wakes up outside at the lake. Hannah made her comeback last episode. Dexter has a conversation with Hannah at the Red Coral Club, Hannah's name is Maggie and she is married with Miles Castner. Masuka discovered that Niki works at a bar, but as a topless waitress. Dexter got beaten up by Castner's crew. Miles rapes Hannah. Hannah killed Miles with a sharp, Dexter took care of the body. Cassie has been killed on a cruel way, did Zach kill her? Nice episode of Dexter Season 8, is Hannah going to leave Miami for good? Or did she have another plan to block Dexter's plans?

Both of you?

Warning: Spoilers
1. Hannah is in Miami 2. Dexter is jealous 3. Hannah kills her husband

This is a fine episode but it's just amazing to see how much it's fallen off. Reintroduction of Hannah just seems like something I cannot pay attention at all. It is well executed but it is so forced and out of place. Just a bad writing choice. I understand that it's an attempt to create a narrative about two killers not belonging together and how it creates damage especially in relation to Zach. Possibly a buildup to the finale where Dexter leaves everything. Losing interest quickly in this season where I think it could have been great.

For those of you who have been so negative about "Dexter"
stngall28 August 2013
For those of you who have been so negative about where the show has been heading please consider this. Have you ever taken thought to why you "hate" it so much? Have you actually considered that there may be a reason for why they're going in this direction? The purpose of the show is to show Dexter's evolution of a monster trying to become human. You need to understand the basic psychology behind the character. Those of you saying he should go back to killing need to stop and think about WHERE DEXTER IS NOW. If you really want to see him just killing people then go watch the first season. This is NOT what Dexter was EVER about. You are completely misinterpreting the show's message. Yes, it's an R/M-Rated show. It's filled with mature content. All the writers actually do their research on this stuff. Believe me, they know what they're talking about. They've embodied this world and this character for 8 years. As a writer, I've been interested in seeing the behind the scenes and have watched probably every interview with the actors and writers and seen how much they've put into the show. Every second of Dexter is right FOR Dexter. This is a character driven show. He has to always be changing. It's real and that's what you can do with television as apposed to film. They have time to develop this character over time and really give him depth. I mean, isn't that what all actors are looking for? I know I would get sick of having to be in the same state of mind and only feeling one emotion (or none at all). Don't expect him to just stay the same and be a killer. Not only is that inhumane but it gets old and stale. Characters NEED change. The entire series he's been trying to become more human. More real. Every character and every action has been to move this character forward. We are here to take this journey with this character driven show. The writers have taken on one of the most complex characters in television history. He really has evolved in a realistic and psychological way. He's grown. Not many shows have done that. This show is not comparable to any. It is what it is. The seasons are what they are and Dexter is who he is. Put yourself in the writer's shoes for once. Don't you think they believe in what they're doing? Wouldn't you? They've dedicated 8 years to this. It's their baby. It's like telling a parent how to raise a child. Sure they're some bad parents but go watch an interview with some of these writers. They're pretty knowledgeable in the field that they are in. What if they said that you were bad at what you think you're good at? Are you a screenwriter yourself? Some maybe but most of you aren't. All I'm asking is take a moment to think when you say "I hate this" or "this season sucks" or "the writers should go die". There are true Dexter fans out there. If you really dislike where the show is heading then stop. Don't sit and complain. Go out there and show us what you think a good show should be like. Yes, nothing is perfect, but there's no need for all the negativity. Why sit and complain about a show you don't even like when you could be out there watching a show you do? Either enjoy the ride or get off.

Two psychopaths together, never good mix
nikashvili12 August 2013
Previous episode A Little Reflection gave some tricky points for this week's episode - Hannah was back, Dexter did not kill Zach, because Vogel suggested to raise him up.

Dress Code brings great followups for each points. Starting with Hannah, Dex tries to understand the reason she is back and tries to trace her. It seems she is not hiding and actually wants that Morgan found her easily. Debra is worried about her sudden appearance in Miami and practically asks brother to kill her, however he seems to have different plans about ex-girlfriend.

Zach becomes bigger trouble having zero control over himself. It seems writers do not want him to be a bad person, he seems miserable in beating his dark passenger and therefore he totally hopes for Dexter's help. Hamilton is a little, confused kid, who does terrible things and hates himself for this reason and a serial killer is the last chance. Morgan has already decided to be "Harry" for him, to teach a code and make new himself.

The same time, Debra tries to gain control over brother and Hannah. She is not sure whether Dexter is still in love or not and accordingly does not trust him very much. Vogel urges her to foresee all possible solutions for her problems, without hurting Dex, or sending Hannah to prison, since she know everything about serial killer. Debra starts to work in her own way, which might lead us to a very interesting and stunning end.

Dress Code gives a closer look at Masuka and his child relationship. Vince does his best to be a good father, taking care of her. And they kind of seem to fit each other. But I have a huge doubts about Nikki. Why writers brought someone on the last season of show, who does not even complicates the plot? She is too simple and aside standing character and it does not look like Dexter. So, I think, there is something we all have to wait for regarding this little new girl, but I have no clue what this is going to be.

Hannah and Dexter reunite in some specific sense, which any viewer will find interesting to see on screen. So, I guess that is one of the good parts of this episode.

As always, Jennifer Carpenter is outstanding. As I said before, Sam Underwood is a new star bringing total freshness to the show. His character is interesting, not knowing where to he leads, he is a great actor himself, making a brilliant serial killer. This episode is even better for him, than previous one. So, I guess he as an actor progresses a lot.

All in all, Dress Code is a damn good episode, which successfully followed the 6th one up.

S8.E7 - Hannah [9/10]

Warning: Spoilers
(S8. E7) My Reaction / Review for Dexter Season 8 Episode 7 ''Dress Code'': Episode 6 was good and I gave it a rating of 9/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. I wonder what Hannah wants from Dex and Deb. She had the chance to kill them but she didn't so what is it? It seems like the relationship between Masuka and his daughter is good, im happy for them. Seems like Hannah has a new boyfriend, probably a powerful guy. So Dex spoke with Hannah and she wont tell him why she came back into his life, that makes no sense. Oh ok so she wanted Dex to kill her husband, that makes sense. I like Dr Vogel, I hope she will be in future episodes. So Hannah is still in love with Dexter. Masuka and his daughter are so cute. It's nice to see Dexter having a partner in crime, im talking about Zach. Hannah's husband is a psycho, he is nuts. I didn't expect that hannah would kill him. Someone killed Cassie, was it Zach? My rating is 9/10.

Hannah Episode=Bleh
mrxelement12 August 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Now that Hannah has return to the scene... here we go again Dexter being a idiot. First off, this episode stared quite nice but then the Hannah scenes are just awful that makes me want to turn it off because of her. Dexter always saying "Hannah this and Hannah that" is beyond annoying. Zach on the other hand was okay during this episode since he was a bit of help for Dexter. Also the voice-over from Dexter weren't that great usually the simple "Zack Car", "Hannah's Here", "Harrison is sleep", stuff like that. Deb is good as always playing big sister role but damn we see Elway like we never see him before and that was a good scene from him. Hopefully, this seasons picks up and gets rid of Hannah so she won't ruin Dexter live like how she ruined this one with her stupid whining.

bad bad bad...

It is so sad, that this once brilliant crime and psychology show became such a cheap soap opera... bad script, full of logical flaws, absolutely senseless... when.melissa rosenberg left after season 4, this serie came down completely...
